Self-Published Author of “Killing Cancer with TILs”. Inspirational Speaker, Autologous CELL Therapy Proof Of Concept for Solid Tumors, Rare Melanoma Survivor Thriver & Advocate, Clinical Trial Volunteer, & Giver of Hope
I worked for almost 10 years for the Golf department at a private country club which were some of the best 10 years of my life from 2006-2016. The relationships I formed and the life lessons I’ve learned, have shaped me to who I am today and I’m forever grateful for those experiences. I mentioned this because I’d love to be playing in this tournament tomorrow, but I’m not but I’m hopeful for next year. As a #RareCancer survivor myself, I credit my cure to the therapy that actually eradicated my terminal #Cancer from a single one time #AutologousCellTherapy using my own #TIL or #TumorInfiltratingLymphoyctes. These type of novel #AdvancedCellTherapies which use a patient’s own specific cells to fight back the ones that go rogue and mutate, not only saved my life, but is also the same concept that is changing the future of #RareDisease. I do not work in philanthropy or the #CGT industry specifically but I do follow this space very closely. The world of #CellTherapy is so much more than just the cure for #SolidTumors or #HematologicCancers, but also the answer to autoimmune diseases like #RheumatoidArthritis and #Diabetes as well. The data is out there with studies and clinical trials. Over the past 4 1/2 years as I’ve been navigating survivorship and recovery, finding a sense of community has been more of a challenge than I thought it would be. I’ve never been in this position before so I didn’t know what to expect but I am mission focused. Instead of being disease focused, I have concentrated my efforts on treatment and therapy focused spaces which has led me to connect with the Emily Whitehead Foundation. As a needle in a haystack, it’s tough to find other needles and with so few, sometimes they are hard to find. Cheers to everyone playing in tomorrow’s tournament and God bless all the players and sponsors in their support for Teeing Off For T-Cells! ⛳️🏌️♂️ #CellTherapy #EndCancer #Melanoma #MetastaticMelanoma #MalignantMelanoma #MucosalMelanomaSurvivor #TIL #ClinicalTrials #TumorInfiltratingLymphocytes
We are teeing up for our 10th annual Tee Off for T-Cells tomorrow! 162,000 people per year are diagnosed with some form of cancer. That’s why this July I will be running 162km in the hope to raise money for various cancer charities. I have started to strategise: How many Km’s per day do I want to run? How many days a week & what rest days do I take? What if I get injured throughout? The reality is, these 162,000 people didn’t get a choice or much of a strategy. The plan is to just run……… If you want to support, please see link below. https://lnkd.in/g3hWjGVx

**Update 4** And we've reached 1500 press-ups - half way there. Thought they'd get easier but no chance. Drawing determination from your generosity. Total donations now at £420.00.. Let's do this. 💪👍 **Update 3** £350 donated. And we've smashed the £250 target. You are awesome🙌🎉🎊 , LinkedIn family. 935 press-ups done. Nearly a third of the way there. **Update 2** £110 donated. 300 press-ups done. Only 2700 more to go! **Update 1** £80 donated within 24 hours. That's brilliant - grateful to contributors. Let's smash that £250 🎯 2015 was the year I nearly met my maker. My medical team gave me 3 days. Haemoglobin counts were virtually non-existent, and white cell counts were through the roof. To soften the blow, they called it acute anaemia! Before that, I was fit, without any underlying health problems. With that news, critical moments in my relatively short time on earth flashed before my eyes. My 8-year-old was nearly left fatherless. Our very successful practice had grown exponentially and needed steering. My parents almost lost a son. I've not talked about this chapter of my life publicly, but since my diagnosis - it saddens me that 1 out of every 2 people I’ve met is either a survivor or has lost a loved one to this dreaded disease. I wish I could say that I’m cured. Unfortunately, I cannot. What’s keeping me alive is exceptional cancer research and the work of brilliant researchers. Many like me wouldn't be here to tell the tale without their groundbreaking work. During November, I won't be growing a tash, I won’t be running 10k, I won’t be on a spiritual retreat (these are all brilliant causes, too) - I will be doing 100 press-ups every day. That's 3,000 in the month of November. Whilst I push the envelope, hoping that my creaky joints and muscles can take the strain, your kind donations to #cancerresearchuk will go a long way in helping humanity. Are you in? #ImIn #beatcancer #weareone

This is not just a story about the best breakfast - it’s a story about a best friend (who needs help for the worst reason). Almost every morning I eat toast with banana and peanut butter. It’s been at least ten years and I’m not sick of it (and hope I never will be). If you haven’t tried it, consider this your wake-up call. And just so you know, I always slice up the banana in rounds and lay them out like this (I promise this will matter later): [OOOO] [OOOO] [OOOO] One of the perks of a best friend is you can stay with them when you’re in town, and they’ll offer to pick up your favorite breakfast foods and snacks. (Or is it just that my friends and I really care about food??) That’s exactly what happened a couple of years ago when I was in New York and stayed with Devin Bramhall. I let her know about the banana and toast situation, and of course she made sure to have some on hand. What happened next absolutely blew me away. Ever-thoughtful Devin, of course, had toast ready and waiting for me when I woke up. I was so thrilled (I'm a post-hibernation bear cub in the morning) - then I looked at the plate and my jaw dropped. [( )( )( )] [( )( )( )] [( )( )( )] Devin had made peanut butter toast with bananas in a way I had *never seen before*. She sliced the banana lengthwise (kind of hard to tell from my crummy text art up there) and laid it out in neat rows across the toast. 🤯🤩 She had shown me an entirely new angle on something I saw every day. I think about this now almost every time I make this breakfast for myself, because it encapsulates so much of what I love about Devin - she is unendingly kind and generous and would do anything for her friends. But she is also the most creative person I have ever met and approaches everything with a totally new perspective. You will always encounter the unexpected with Devin. Now, Devin is facing the unexpected herself - an incredibly rare form of ovarian cancer. Treatment has made it difficult for her to work and support herself, so it’s our turn to support her. An amazing lineup of marketers is teaming up to put on a fundraiser for Devin, taking place on Monday. Sign up or donate below, it will go such a long way. Register now: jayacunzo.com/devin And don't forget to try this breakfast. I swear, it's the best (and so is Devin).
