It was our great pleasure to host Kristin Richards, Kristi Dula-Ferguson, Khama Sharp, Donna Yuen, Sabrina Canela, and Jamie Gladfelter from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) last week. We owe so much to this team – the DCEO’s 2021 Rebuild Illinois Wet Lab Capital Program launched Northwestern's Querrey InQbation Lab. With their initial $3M grant, matched by Northwestern University, we now have 15,000 sq ft of co-working, lab, and office space, which in less than 2 years, has become home to 16 #startups (and growing) with >70 employees in areas such as #syntheticbiology, #bioelectronics, #medicaldevices, #cleantech, #therapeutics, #diagnostics, and more! ⭐⭐ Syenex, Opera Bioscience, MFNS Tech Inc., Chang Robotics/IP Studio, Temprian Oncology Incorporated, Flashpoint Therapeutics, Arma Biosciences, Volexion, Rhaeos, Actinia, Inc., Stemloop, Inc., @Hemorhythmics, @ImmPro, @Skyway Biosciences, @HIDENN-AI, @PreDx, ⭐⭐ Initiatives such as the Wet Lab Capital Program are essential to translating Illinois’ research and technological excellence to our regional #ecosystem - - creating #companies, #jobs, and partnerships.
