As a company deeply committed to Latin America, we remain dedicated to raising awareness and gathering support for those suffering from the impact of Hurricane Otis in Mexico. While its news coverage is gradually fading, we cannot forget the profound suffering endured by the people of Acapulco, Guerrero. The hurricane's fury demolished critical infrastructure, cut off basic services, and tragically resulted in casualties and missing individuals. The situation is dire, and the people of Acapulco are enduring unimaginable hardships. Due to the severe lack of food, water, and essential supplies, the desperation of the affected communities has escalated. Vandalism has ravaged the commercial stores in Acapulco to the point where there are no longer any shops to purchase much-needed provisions. On Monday morning, Hurricane Beryl came through Houston.   What we saw was wild.   After the storm, my wife and I drove around the city.   Parts of the road were completely underwater.   Cars were abandoned on the side of the road.   We drove through a foot of water.   A friend of ours had a tree fall on his house.   Today is the first day we got power back, but MILLIONS of people are still without power.   Most businesses are still closed or may only accept cash.   ----- Why do I tell you this?   First, Pray for Houston! It's 90 to 100 degrees and people are stuck in their houses without AC. Some people are struggling to access food. Some people lost their cars, houses, businesses, or, even sadly, their lives.   Second, Be Prepared! Everywhere gets some type of natural disaster and it all costs money. Lots of people are throwing away food, have damaged property, and now don't have the money to replace it. Build an emergency fund ahead of time to protect yourself.   Third, Get Generous! When you're prepared to protect yourself financially, you can be generous towards other people. Homeless people just had all of their belongings damaged. Your neighbor may be struggling to get food. Tropical Storm Ernesto is battering Puerto Rico. Team Rubicon is there. Back in September 2017, Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico. In the wake of the devastation, Team Rubicon rebuilt over 500 roofs to the highest standards. This #investment was made possible by supporters like GAF and the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, along with a strong partnership with #FEMA, St Vincent dePaul, and contractors throughout the island. In a year, the team built over 500 hurricane rated roofs that keep families dry and protected from the storms year after year. Watch to see how we did it. Supporting customers for their industrial needs might be what we do, but supporting the PEOPLE in need in our local communities is who we are! Countless families have been impacted by Hurricane Beryl in the Houston area, including some of our own team who sustained damage to their homes. With our headquarters on the Gulf Coast, we know all-too-well the devastation that comes with a direct hit from a Hurricane, and the messy aftermath it leaves in its wake for years to come. But even in tragedies there are always those who rise up to the challenge. Often, the worst times can bring out the best in people. 💪 As Mr. Rogers would say: "Look for the helpers. Working on community adaptation to increase resilience in the face of disasters

Downed power lines, collapsed infrastructure, damaged schools, community centres and churches – this is the aftermath of #HurricaneBeryl across several countries in the south-eastern Caribbean. Red Cross teams are on the ground, responding and supporting those who are most in need. At the Grenada Red Cross Society, Dominica Red Cross Society and St. Lucia Red Cross, volunteers are distributing emergency supplies including hygiene kits, tarpaulins, blankets and mosquito nets, as well as meals. St. Vincent and The Grenadines Red Cross volunteers are supporting assessments, providing first aid and delivering relief supplies. In Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, Red-Cross supported shelters have been able to close, and people have returned home. In anticipation of hurricane season and the potential impact, the Jamaica Red Cross pre-positioned emergency supplies and is keeping people updated with vital information on how to stay safe now that Beryl has passed. The strength of the Red Cross is our combination of community-based and global support. The Canadian Red Cross has a history of collaborating with Red Cross National Societies in the region. With the support of the Government of Canada (Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada), we are providing funds and personnel to support the global response. For many people, Jamaica is an idyllic paradise - stunning beaches, warm climate, and friendly people pull you in. However, when a hurricane hits this beautiful island, the aftermath can be devastating. In July 2024, Hurricane Beryl swept past the island, leaving widespread property damage. Towns on Jamaica's south coast bore the brunt of the storm, experiencing significant property destruction and disruption to the lives and livelihoods of the people living there. Many roofs were torn off, buildings were destroyed, trees were uprooted, and roads became impassable. Power outages affected 65 percent of the island's residents, and sadly, there were reports of at least two deaths. In light of the severe damage, foreigners and nationals alike can help with hurricane relief efforts in many ways.
