We often work within regeneration contexts in our consultancy work. Frequently people are focusing on buildings and infrastructure in regeneration plans, but we think it's important to talk about cultural regeneration too. People and activity need to be a part of regeneration if it's going to have the impact it should. So it's great to see this article from Arts Council England on cultural regeneration in the West Country. #LetsCreate #CulturalRegeneration #CulturalDevelopment #CulturalConsultancy https://lnkd.in/euvTuDu9

We have discussed today in a webinar co-organised with RSA Europe the new EU Science, Research and Innovation policy brief on inclusive #cities fit for crises and long-term challenges. It examines recurrent #urban challenges that are exacerbated by crises, and offers suggestions for an inclusive approach to improve cities' #resilience taking account that those crises and challenges often disproportionately affect vulnerable #communities. Municipalities want to be inclusive. But we don’t always know what this means, or where barriers to inclusivity exist. This virtual workshop will analyze concepts, provide tangible tools, and offer insight into ways to influence change within your municipality. “NCN provides energy and really influences the development in your own city!” We are now closing the series of "Meet the Board of NCN" by interviewing Anne Reinton, Project Manager at Trondheim kommune 👋 So Anne, what is the best thing about NCN? - For me, the best thing about NCN is the combination of new knowledge and inspiration, and exciting discussions and practical learning . Ever since the start in 2004, NCN has conveyed the knowledge frontier and put new trends, challenges, and opportunities on the agenda to discuss what it might mean in a Nordic context, and how we should act in the Nordic cities. NCN provides energy and really influences the development in your own city! What is your biggest contribution to the work within NCN? - I am very interested in the link between strategic community development and physical urban planning. Both in the board work and the network, I try to highlight that connection, and contribute to inviting people from different parts of the municipality and several players in the city who all have different roles in creating sustainable cities. Where will NCN be in ten years? - In ten years' time, I hope that NCN will still be a powerful inspiration and learning arena for the Nordic cities. Perhaps even more diversely composed? Would you like to join our #network? Please don't hesitate to contact us! #urbanplanning #sustainability #urbansustainability #urbanplanning #nordiccities

The UNITAC conference is focusing especially on the first key consideration of the International Guidelines resolution: "Ensure the equal participation and appreciation of people, including women and girls, children and youth, persons with disabilities, older persons and people in vulnerable situations, and ensure that digital and other new technologies contribute to reducing spatial, economic, social and digital inequalities, overcoming economic and social development challenges and supporting respect for human rights for inclusive cities." In line with #UNITAC’s research focus, the main emphasis of the conference is on spatial aspects to #reducespatialinequalities.

Its Day 3 of the Co Habitat Network 10th Anniversary Conference in Geneva and Anja Lazar from our Central and Eastern Europe partner Zadrugator/ MOBA Housing SCE explains that despite governments, in particular Slovenia, insisting people want to own their own home, their research shows that what is really important to people is affordability, safe and habitable housing and security of tenure as opposed to the type of tenure.
