The LoCI system is used by operators across the landfill gas collection system to support faster troubleshooting and emissions reduction on the ground — while planes, drones, and satellites can detect large methane plumes from above. A recent article from Canary Media Inc. highlighted Colorado's large-scale initiative to reduce emissions from its 80 landfills using innovative technology, including Carbon Mapper flyovers. Adding LoCI enables landfill and plant owners and operators to quickly act on real-time data to identify and remediate sources of emissions — including on the active face — without walking the entire wellfield. Together, these technologies offer a way to decrease harmful methane emissions in the near-term, leveraging all available data to make an impact. #innovation #climateaction #technology https://lnkd.in/eRWttsuQ

LoCI and our CEO and Chairman, Peter Quigley, have signed an open letter from ACR at Winrock International highlighting the value of carbon credits for all business leaders. By purchasing carbon credits, business leaders can take responsibility for their emissions, support sustainability goals, and bring immediate value to their organizations. We’re proud to generate these high-integrity credits from emission reductions at our projects and support all avenues toward climate action. #sustainability #climateaction #innovation
🔔 OUT TODAY: CALLING ALL BUSINESS LEADERS New Open Letter to Future Carbon Credit Buyers - Five reasons carbon credits bring value to your organization: 1) Carbon markets allow companies to move fast: act before you have access to all the tools you know you need. 2) Carbon markets move capital efficiently at scale: lower economy-wide costs of decarbonization and raise ambitions. 3) Carbon markets measure impact: quantify progress and contributions to beyond value chain reductions. 4) Your stakeholders expect action: 8 of the 10 most valuable brands in the world use carbon credits (or have pledged to do so). 5) Carbon markets are the future: earn “first mover” benefits and future-proof your company. Now is the time for companies to take greater responsibility for the emissions they cannot reduce by purchasing and retiring high-quality carbon credits. The evidence is undeniable that we must reduce methane emissions to slow the rate of global warming — and LoCI is proud to be at the forefront of these efforts across landfills. According to a recent article from The Washington Post, a new report from the Global Carbon Project has found that "human-caused methane emissions grew as much as 20 percent between 2000 and 2020 and now account for at least a third of total annual releases. The largest growth came from expanding landfills, booming livestock production, increased coal mining and surging consumption of natural gas." Since methane lingers in the atmosphere for significantly less time than carbon dioxide, according to Rob Jackson, chair of the Global Carbon Project, "It’s the only greenhouse gas where we can reduce climate change in the next decade or two through emissions reductions." #innovation #climateaction

We couldn’t help but notice a LoCI device included on Tom Frankiewicz’s tour at OCWR! We’re thrilled to see LoCI’s real-time data and control system — which provides actionable insights to curb methane emissions from landfills — recognized as part of the solution to slow the rate of global warming. #innovation #technology RMI
I recently had the pleasure of touring a facility at County of Orange Waste & Recycling (OCWR) to see some of the innovative things they're doing to detect emissions, find and fix leaks, and create a smart landfill to provide comprehensive information for operations. We'll be sharing some videos of our visit soon, but I wanted to thank Tom Koutroulis and the rest of his team for showing us a great time. #OCWR #RMI #SlashMethane #WasteMAP

With climate-related risks quickly increasing, it's more important than ever to do what we can — collectively — to mitigate the effects of global warming. Over just two decades, methane traps 85 times as much heat in the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. LoCI's real-time data and control system minimizes these potent greenhouse gas emissions from landfills across the U.S. Learn more from the IPCC about the risks across levels of warming and connect with LoCI to hear how we can help at your landfill and RNG projects. #innovation #climateaction #sustainability
Our future climate - what's in store? ▪️ Many climate-related risks are higher for any given future warming level. ▪️Projected long-term impacts are up to multiple times higher ▪️High risks are now assessed to occur at lower global warming levels. ➡️ https://bit.ly/SRYRpt23
