Carbon capture is part of a broader suite of technologies called Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies. CCUS technologies are a key aspect of energy transition for industry, particularly high emitters and hard to abate sectors like steel, cement, refineries, and chemicals, all of which are vital for current economic activity and future growth. Clean production for meeting net zero goals, involves using hydrogen in processes such as steel making. This ambitious plan is formalized under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government, reinforcing Avaada's commitment to green energy. 🍃 Wind-Solar Parks Across Districts: The strategy involves constructing wind-solar parks in various districts of Gujarat, especially on underdeveloped waste lands in Kutch district. Do you know World's Largest renewable energy park is in India. The world's largest renewable energy park has been completed in Khavda in Kutch district of Gujarat. This renewable energy park has been built by Gautam Adani's company Adani Green Energy. Green energy will be produced from solar energy and wind energy in this plant built near the border of Pakistan. This plant of Adani is spread over about 538 square kilometers which is 5 times larger than the city of Paris. When Gautam Adani came to Khavda in Gujarat in 2022, seeing this place, he jokingly said that can anyone find even a mosquito in this place? The company will take the production capacity of this plant to 2 gigawatts in 2024-25. When this plant is fully ready, its capacity will be 30 gigawatts, in which 26 gigawatts will be produced through solar energy and 4 gigawatts will be produced through wind energy. The Khavda plant will produce 81 billion units of electricity at its peak, which is more than the entire consumption of countries like Belgium, Chile and Switzerland. Once the 30GW renewable park starts operating by FY29, 58 million tonnes of CO2 emissions will be reduced. This emission is equivalent to the emissions from 60,300 tonnes of coal or 12.6 million cars. Currently 8,000 people are working in this plant.
