Some fantastic insights here from Michelle Okere, CFRE! Of particular note, Michelle reminds us of the importance that networking can play: "Engage with organizations and networks that focus on supporting underrepresented groups. Attend events and conferences that promote diversity and inclusion". #hrcommunity #biasawareness #traininganddevelopment

Classic recruitment error: total focus on choosing the best candidate. 🤦 Recruitment is sales. The best candidates have options. Why should they choose you? 🤔 I was reminded of this the other day when talking to a brilliant colleague who mentioned that they had been nervous to raise their ADHD diagnosis before interview. They asked for an adjustment: to know what we would ask in advance. 😬 We talked about it, made some enquiries, and decided to send all the candidates the questions before the interview. After all, we want them to give the best account of themselves possible. 🤝 It turns out that the way we handled it made the candidate determined to join us, and excited to start. 🤩 It's a nice example of an adjustment that is crucial for some people, and just fine for everyone else too. ✅ And it's part of our journey to be a more inclusive employer and partner - one that was recognised this week when we won 'Most Inclusive at Heart Workplace' Award in the _Shift People Awards, powered by Escape the City. 🥇 This work has involved so many Hubbubers, but special shout out to Kimberley Hancock for leading the way, Emily King for her work with communities and Rosie Gordon Lennox and the rest of the comms team. 🙌 We're proud to win it but still feel far from expert in this area. Lots more to come - if you have ideas or people we should learn from, I'm all ears. 👂 ++ P.S. I'm Alex Robinson, CEO of environmental charity Hubbub. We bring business, government and civil society together to create campaigns that make it easier and more possible for all of us to make choices that are good for the environment. Elevate Your Nonprofit Team with Nonprofit Leadership LLC's Strategic Sourcing Expertise and Technology! I firmly believe that sourcing nonprofit talent is vital for a diverse candidate pool. To get diverse talent, you have to be intentional. Posting on LinkedIn, Indeed, and other outlets will not grant you a diverse applicant pool and only limits you to current job seekers. Sourcing technology software allows me as a recruiter to find qualified and diverse candidate and introduce them to the opportunity; it's game-changing for nonprofits. Why is Nonprofit Sourcing Valuable? Impactful Skills: Prioritizing skills ensures we bring in individuals with the expertise needed to drive your organization's mission forward. Case in point: When hiring for the YWCA CEO, we reached out to candidates with YWCA experience nationwide. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Our focus on equity and inclusion creates a diverse team reflecting your community. For E.L.I.’s House, we sought applicants from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, resulting in over 50% of interviewed candidates being people of color. Passion-Driven Performance: Identifying candidates whose values align with your organization fosters a workplace where passion drives dedication and genuine commitment. The Knoxville Botanical Garden, for instance, required a strong passion for the mission, and we sourced candidates nationwide with botanical garden experience and a passion for historic and environmental causes. Benefits of Hiring Nonprofit Leadership LLC for Sourcing: Expertise in Nonprofit Sector: We understand the unique challenges and opportunities within the sector, providing insights into the skills that make a candidate a perfect fit for your organization. Network and Connections: With extensive networks locally and nationally, we tap into a pool of candidates qualified and passionate about making a difference. Our database includes 500+ individuals seeking nonprofit career moves. Time and Resource Efficiency: Sourcing talent for a nonprofit is time-consuming. We streamline the process, saving your organization valuable time and resources—crucial for addressing urgent staffing needs. Sourcing Talent - A Standalone Consulting Option! For nonprofits that only need sourcing, we've got you covered. Our technology produces a list of qualified candidates based on your job specifics. Pricing is based on the number of sourced and communicated candidates: 50-150 sourced candidates ($500) 150+ sourced candidates ($700) Let's ensure when you make a hire that you've attracted everyone qualified and interested in your position. #NonprofitLeadership #TalentSourcing #DiversityHiring #NonprofitRecruiting #MissionDrivenTeams
