Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending ZEIT für [FORSCHUNG] at the Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3. Fraport AG celebrated the 100th anniversary of airport history, honouring the past and embracing the future. The discussions focused largely on the innovation in the aerospace industry. 🎯 How can we achieve significant reduction in carbon footprint while increasing operational efficiency? There is no single answer. However, electrification provides a short-term solution to decarbonise existing short-haul flights, as well as the ability to extend regional networks and provide air mobility alternatives to those who travel by car. 🎯 How will we fly in the nearest future? - Electric ⚡. During the 5th Bauhaus Luftfahrt symposium, I had the pleasure to present some of my insights on the intersection of passenger environmental awareness and air travel behavioural change. Here are some key messages on how to motivate #passengers to adopt #sustainable #aviation. -It is well known that changes in consumer behaviour can only be achieved if there is proactive communication, a clear awareness of the effects of consumption is created and attractive alternatives are offered. This also applies to aviation and its passengers. -In order to reduce the gap between #attitude and #behaviour, joint efforts are needed from various stakeholders, including policy makers, the aviation industry, non-governmental organisations and academia. -An effective communication and mutual understandings are required for achieving the collaboration among all relevant stakeholders. Many thanks for the great symposium organised by the whole team, and the chance offered by Prof. Mirko Hornung and Dr. Kay Ploetner to raise more attention on this under-addressed topic.

👨💻 🛫 🔐 During the 2023 edition of the "International Airport Summit", organized by International Airport Review, in #London, our COO Alessandro Fidato spoke within the panel entitled: "Integrating emerging technologies into airport operations", to find out how airports are leveraging the latest technological advances to improve efficiency, safety and passenger experience. 🎤 "SEA Milan Airports has implemented a customer-centric strategy aimed at enhancing the passenger experience through a frictionless and contactless journey, leveraging technology to reduce the #time to #gate. The recent renovation of Milan's #Linate airport involved the introduction of the "Smart Security" concept at the #Security #Checkpoint: a combination of #technology and #neuroscience applied to architectural design, was designed to alleviate passenger anxiety. The new Security Checkpoint at #Linate airport, making it one of the first airports in #Europe fully equipped with EDS-CB technology. The introduction of Computed Tomography (CT) screening not only elevated security measures but also improved the #PassengerExperience by allowing them to retain computer devices and liquids in their cabin baggage, even those exceeding 100ml. Passengers positively responded to this new technology, resulting in a notable improvement of over 30% in the ACI EUROPE customer experience index #ASQ. Additionally, SEA Milan Airports achieved a 70% increase in throughput for each line while simultaneously reducing the number of security guards by 30%, effectively handling the same passenger volume as in #2019. This optimization also led to a reduction in #security wait times from 8 minutes to 4 minutes. It is therefore essential to keep up with technological #innovations by underlining the mutual #benefit deriving from allowing technology suppliers to test innovations on our #equipment." #IARSummit #AirportInnovation #TechnologyAirports
