Seeing stats like this can be disheartening, until you realize that it is absolutely possible to change this reality when everyone does their part. These are our kids, America's kids, and we can all take a step TODAY to flip the script for their future. Because it's our future, too. Help more kids find families through corporate sponsorships: https://lnkd.in/en7KrGj2 #superbowl #fostercareawareness
Did you know? The Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas holds 65,000 people. Multiply this by six and you get 390,000, which falls short of accommodating the 400,000 kids in foster care today. Nationwide, there are only half the amount of homes needed to house them. One of the reasons for the shortage is that 50% of new foster parents quit within the first year, with many stating lack of community support as a reason. That's where our Foster Friendly program comes in. We help increase foster parent retention by equipping businesses, churches and entire communities to support and encourage local foster families. As a business leader, you can make a huge difference in the lives of foster families and the children they serve through: A) Corporate sponsorships Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gpG2DDsC B) Offering discounts to foster families on our free Foster Friendly App Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gasfpedz Join the movement and let's make sure these local heroes receive the community support they deserve! #fosterfriendly #nfl #superbowl Statistics source: Lifesong for Orphans

There are solutions for children in care if we want to find them and make the phone calls. Kevin Campbell and Elizabeth Wendel, Co-Founders Pale Blue can show you how. Please join us in this important conversation on episode #153 of the Thriving Minds podcast. https://lnkd.in/e-kkF2Qc Learn about the "Family Finding" methodology in child safety and welfare for 2 decades. It prioritises reconnecting children in the care of systems with their extended family members and other significant connections. The main goal is to establish a lifelong network of support, ensuring the child's well-being, safety, and permanency. Here's why "Family Finding" is vital in child safety:

100’s of millions invested by the State of California over the next 4 years to flip the script on Foster care. Instead of foster and residential care, California will support families to stay together and make the first placement of children with kin if they can't stay home. 20 years after the first Family Finding replication test in Sacramento, a humbling day. Thank you, Lyn Farr, Michael Nash, and Judge Len Edwards for your vision to bring FF to California.

August probably has you thinking about beach days or barbecues. But it’s also #makeawillmonth. This August, consider joining a growing circle of YGB supporters who bolster our work and help ensure nobody ages out of foster care alone by including YGB in your estate planning. Our staff works tirelessly to ensure that every child in foster care has the opportunity to find a forever home, no matter their age. And we rely on generous contributions- including planned giving- from people like you to make it possible! 💙 Here's why planned giving is so important: 1️⃣ Ensuring a legacy: By making a planned gift, you leave behind a legacy that continues to impact the lives of foster youth for years to come. Your generosity can provide them with the love, stability, and support they deserve. 2️⃣ Financial benefits: Planned giving can offer significant tax advantages and financial benefits for you and your loved ones. It's a win-win situation where you can support a cause you care about while also taking care of your own financial future. 3️⃣ Empowering foster youth: Your planned gift can empower foster youth by giving them the chance to experience the love and stability of a forever family. It's a gift that can change their lives forever. What could be better? So, as you consider your estate plans this month, please think about including You Gotta Believe. Together, we can make a difference and ensure all foster youth find the loving families they deserve. 💕 If you'd like more information on how to make a planned gift or support You Gotta Believe's mission, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/ep7qKcuA

We exist to see every child in a loving and stable home. Houston’s overwhelmed foster care system is a massive problem, but it’s not the only problem to solve in pursuit of this goal. Holistic problems must be addressed holistically. And because none of us can do it all on our own, we have to work together- as a community fiercely committed to strengthening children and families. Some of us foster children. Some of us mentor youth. Some of us pour into at-risk parents. Some of us become a certified babysitter able to offer time to foster parents. Some of us give financially to support initiatives and education. When ALL of us build a home among the suffering, that's when we see deep, restorative change. Your Giving Tuesday gift will help us see this become a reality. Join us on or before November 28th in reaching our goal of raising $5,000 on Giving Tuesday to make Houston a place where families heal and children thrive. riversideproject.org/give
