We’re inspired by Food Strong, a Cleveland-based nonprofit taking bold steps toward food justice and sustainability. Their latest initiative, the Superior Farm Fix-Up, is an ambitious 5-year project to transform a vacant property at Superior Avenue and East 67th Street into a thriving urban farm and community resource hub. 🚜 In the heart of Cleveland, this effort will: ✅ Combat systemic food insecurity using regenerative agriculture to supply affordable, healthy produce to local residents and schools. ✅ Provide educational programs, skills training, and entrepreneurial opportunities. ✅ Serve as a community-driven hub where people can access affordable food, resources, and small business support. By emphasizing collaboration and sustainability, Food Strong is creating more than a farm—it’s building resilience and opportunity for Northeast Ohio. How You Can Help: 🔹 Donate: Food Strong needs funding to restore the property’s 7,000-square-foot house and achieve their $6 million vision. 🔹 Volunteer: Over 300 volunteers have already contributed, and more hands are welcome to make this dream a reality. 🔹 Spread the word: Awareness drives impact. Share Food Strong’s mission and inspire others to join in. 💡 “This is a community effort, and there’s a way for everyone to contribute,” says founder and executive director Sara Continenza, MPA. The violence, racism and hate on display in Bristol this weekend was horrifying and unacceptable. These actions have no place in our city. The vast majority of Bristolians value community, diversity and equality. But we must do much more to tackle the deep inequities in which hatred, resentment and division fester. We believe tackling food insecurity is one of the essential solutions. There are so many projects in our city that are doing vital work towards food justice. They are helping people at the sharpest end of food insecurity with good food that is culturally appropriate, accessible and affordable to all who need it. This nourishes bodies and nourishes our humanity. Community organisations need our support now more than ever. That’s why we do the work we do, and that’s why we will continue, working with all partners and communities to help make Bristol a city of food justice. We send our solidarity to the thousands of people in our city who are working for more equality, more justice, more community and more love. https://lnkd.in/e4b82mxG

November is Rotary Foundation Month: Fueling Our Dream to Do Good in the World As we celebrate Rotary Foundation Month, we’re reminded of the vital role the Foundation plays in powering Rotary’s mission to create lasting, positive change. Just as the Rotary Foundation Chair Mark Maloney shared, if Rotary is the car, the Rotary Foundation is the engine that drives us to our destinations of service. The Rotary Foundation empowers Rotarians to tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges—from eradicating polio and reducing child mortality to rebuilding communities struck by natural disasters. It’s a force that transforms donations into action, turning dreams into impactful projects across borders, economies, and cultures. This year, the Foundation has set ambitious goals: raising $500 million for 2024–2025 and building an endowment of over $2 billion by 2025. Every contribution fuels this powerful engine, allowing Rotary to do good today and well into the future. #RotaryFoundationMonth #ServiceAboveSelf #RotaryInAction #GlobalImpact #PeopleOfAction #SupportTheCause
This November, we celebrate Rotary Foundation Month—a time to honor the impact of The Rotary Foundation and the difference it makes globally. Through grants and sustainable projects, Rotary empowers communities, strengthens peace efforts, supports education, and fights disease. Together, we’re creating a future filled with hope and opportunity. Let’s continue building a better world! Join us in making lasting change. https://lnkd.in/grxURVi #TheRotaryFoundation #rotaryfoundationmonth #RotaryPeopleOfAction #rotarydistrict7030 #RotaractDistrict7030 #interactdistrict7030 #EarlyActDistrict7030 #PeopleOfAction #ServiceAboveSelf #rotaryzones3334

This past Tuesday was Hunger Action Day! CEO Scott Rumpsa joined The Morning Mix on Fox 17 to share how neighbors like you can help nourish our neighbors and build a stronger, healthier communtiy. Hunger doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Families who struggle to access the food they need often face other challenges, and a setback in one area creates a ripple effect across systems: education, childcare, employment, housing, healthcare, food, finances, and transportation. Complex problems require holistic solutions - that’s why we combine healthy food access, resource navigation, financial empowerment, and street outreach to build a community where all of our neighbors have what they need to thrive, and no one faces challenges alone. It takes a community, working together, to nourish our neighbors! Act with Action House by volunteering, hosting a drive, or donating to support our work! If you ever look at the tags on our social media posts and wonder, "Who are they?" we'll tell you now. They're our partners, and we couldn't do what we do without them. There's a lot to running an organization like ours and while we greatly appreciate when people give us money, we also benefit from the guidance and steering that these groups give us. As a group barely a year old, we soak up all the tips and lessons that our partners can give us. It's also a sign of how things should be in the nonprofit world. We need to help each other. There is competition for resources, yes, but there's also plenty of opportunity for collaboration and referrals. A volunteer who may be unsuited for one agency could thrive in a different one. For example, someone who signed up to help at an animal shelter may find out the hard way that pet dander is not their friend. But walking dogs for a group like Elderdog is right up their alley. Our mission at Volunteer Peterborough is simple; we strive to match volunteers to the ideal organization, and make the recruitment process easier. Our partner agencies make that happen. Stop by our Partners page and see the full group of people that help us do what we do. And we love them for it. https://buff.ly/3JFesd7 #FanFriday #NonProfitLife #ValuableAssets #Partners #CommunityBuilding #Besties

SATURDAY MORNING (NOVEMBER 2ND) at 8:30 AM our amazing Who I Am Foundation volunteers in #Phoenix will be cleaning up the community once again! In honor of Kenny "Fanatic" Hogan, for this Community Clean-Up (PHX) our volunteers will be meeting up in the parking lot of Rodriguez Boxing Club, located at 1350 W Roosevelt St Phoenix, AZ 85007 to clean up Roosevelt St. from 7th Ave to 19th Ave. NO OPEN-TOED SHOES Cleaning up loose trash is one of the best ways to pitch in for your community and the environment. Volunteering as a means to help conserve and protect the environment has a lot of upsides. Of course, the first is that you’ll be taking care of our planet, and it badly needs a little love given the myriad ways in which we’ve become adept at destroying it. But beyond that, volunteering for a cause you care about is a great way to meet like-minded people, make friends, and pull yourself out of the blues that sometimes accompany caring a lot about something important – especially if you feel alone in your endeavors. None of us like the sight of litter. Litter spoils the look of where we live but that’s not the only reason for picking up litter. There are a number of benefits from picking up litter that you may not have considered before. Volunteer-led projects such as these are one of the quickest, simplest, and least expensive ways to inspire more community spirit and civic action. A visually appealing community increases property values, attracts businesses, and improves the neighborhood's image. Beauty is one of the three most influential factors in community attachment, which means loyalty, to your particular town or city. Some research even shows that a nice-looking neighborhood promotes good behavior. Join us in keeping the community clean! For more information: https://lnkd.in/gZ-AVEuh #TeamWhoIAm_Phoenix
