The use of hydrogen fuel cells for transport is certainly one way of developing clean propulsion alongside other technologies. In the automotive world, I remember that #Valeo was already working on these topics 20 years ago. We have seen an acceleration in the use of hydrogen in the rail sector, with #Alstom in particular, and in testing at #Wabtec for locomotives. The technical feasibility has been demonstrated, and the challenge now - to transform the pilot phase to a large scale - is the development of recharging infrastructures and the production of green hydrogen. And this promises to be an exciting challenge, requiring the involvement of a wide network of players in the energy, infrastructure, investment firms and public government sectors! #greenrail #hydrogenpropulsion

The Company Sums Up 2023 HYDROGEN LEADERSHIP The increase in the number of hydrogen buses sold last year clearly demonstrates the growing interest in this technology as more and more operators recognize it as a target solution for their public transport systems. By the end of 2023, Solaris has delivered a total of 180 hydrogen buses to the market, consolidating its position as the European leader in this segment. The fact that 44.5% of all hydrogen buses registered in Europe in 2023 are Solaris vehicles is evidence of the company’s dominance in this field.

Ballard Power Systems announces purchase order of 100 fuel cell engines for NFI buses in North America “Ballard has announced the signing of a new Long-Term Supply Agreement (LTSA) with independent bus and coach manufacturer NFI Group Inc. (TSX: NFI, OTC: NFYEF; TSX: NFI.DB) a leader in electric mass mobility solutions in North America and Europe. The agreement marks a new phase in the established partnership between Ballard and NFI, focused on deployment-level volumes of fuel cell-powered buses across all of NFI’s major brands including New Flyer, Alexander Dennis, and MCI. As part of the LTSA, NFI has placed its first purchase order for a minimum of 100 FCmove®-HD+ fuel cell engines from Ballard for planned delivery in 2024. The fuel cells will primarily be produced in Ballard’s Bend, Oregon facility with Buy America compliance, and will power New Flyer’s next generation Xcelsior CHARGE FC™ hydrogen fuel cell buses for deployment across the U.S. and Canada - including California, Manitoba, Nevada, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. This latest order builds significantly to Ballard's existing partnership with New Flyer that already sees Xclesior CHARGE FC™ models on the road or soon to be in operation in locations including Arizona, Illinois and Alberta. “We are proud NFI has chosen Ballard as their committed partner for the next phase of growth in the fuel cell bus market.
