🌳 509,500 Trees Planted in Australia! 👏 This isn’t just about planting trees—it’s a community effort that’s creating local jobs in tourism, vegetation, and pest management. This project is part of the Yorke Peninsula’s 20-year Marna Banggara program, working to connect habitats, improve wildlife spaces, and boost the ecosystem’s resilience. One key beneficiary is the critically endangered Brush-tailed Bettong (Woylie), a small but crucial animal that helps with seed dispersal and soil health. By enhancing its habitat and linking it to other Woylies, we're giving this species a better chance to thrive. #Reforestation #Biodiversity #CommunitySupport #WildlifeConservation #Australia

March 3 marks World Wildlife Day—a time to reflect on the importance of supporting biodiversity and protecting wetland habitat. Wildlife represents the very essence of Canada. It enriches our lives and enhances collective well-being, while also supporting business and recreational activities that contribute to the economy. Globally, 40% of species rely on wetlands, which in Canada includes more than 550 species, 97 of which are species at risk—but the world is facing a biodiversity crisis and habitat loss is a leading cause. Wetlands are disappearing three times faster than forests, but solutions to halt and reverse the alarming trend of habitat and species loss are in sight—and at Ducks Unlimited Canada, we’re hard at work delivering them. Join us in our mission to protect vital wetland habitat and safeguard biodiversity. Greenfleet is restoring koala habitat! 🌳 September is Save the Koala Month, a perfect time to reflect on our efforts towards our beloved friends.🐨 Since 2021, we have restored nearly 1,000 hectares of legally protected koala habitat across Australia. These projects are vital as koalas are endangered in Queensland, NSW, and the ACT. This koala was photographed in the remnant vegetation at Greentrees. As they grow, the trees planted by Greenfleet are extending this habitat for the koalas already known to the region. As a critical food source for koalas, Forest Red Gum (Eucalyptus tereticornis) makes up 30% of the species mix planted at Greentrees .🌱 Since 2021, multiple sightings of koalas at Greentrees have demonstrated how quickly ecosystem restoration can benefit the local wildlife. This forest is legally protected for 100 years. As it grows, it will continue providing essential habitat for koalas and capture nearly 13,000 tonnes of CO2-e over its lifetime.💚 To find out more about the forest growing at Greentrees, visit: https://lnkd.in/gKJ5vJ_4 #GrowingHope #NativeHabitat #Reforestation #SaveTheKoalaMonth

Gentle and beloved creatures, turtles have been part of our planet for approximately 150 million years. However, they are currently facing the risk of extinction. Each turtle species uniquely affects the ecosystems, diversity, and habitats where they reside, making their protection vital. Turtle conservation projects in Sri Lanka primarily focus on increasing the birth rates and survival of baby turtles. These projects also involve research and data collection to educate local communities about the importance of protecting these animals. As a participant, you will engage in various tasks such as beach cleaning and patrolling, feeding, caring for, and cleaning the turtles for a week or more. You will also contribute to support projects and raise awareness among local communities. By joining this project, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the future of these incredible creatures. Your efforts will contribute to the preservation of their habitats and educate communities on the importance of conservation. Together, we can make a positive impact and ensure the continued existence of these remarkable beings. This is such a wonderful thing to read Treeapp 😍 🤩 #Sustainability #TreeApp #SourceCorporateEvents
Our planting site in Scotland is no ordinary location. 🔍 The Berwickshire woodland was carefully selected to be a part of our UK reforestation initiative as it aims to heal the land severely affected by the Arwen storm in 2021. ⛈ This catastrophic event led to the destruction of 16 million trees, impacting Scotland's native woodlands and crucial wildlife habitats. 🌳 🐦 We aim to reforest the site with a focus on improving species diversity and planting structure to ensure more resilient woodland. This in turn will protect the woodland from future damage and restore the current loss of biodiversity. If you want to find out more about planting process in Berwickshire, go on.... read our blog! Caring for baby birds is an essential, feel free to connect with me Misbah Nadeem 💖👈 aspect of wildlife conservation and a testament to humanity's compassion. 🐦 When fledglings fall from nests or are abandoned, they often rely on human intervention for survival. Providing proper care, such as warmth, hydration, and appropriate food, can make a significant difference in their chances of recovery. 🌱 Organizations and individuals dedicated to bird rescue play a crucial role in rehabilitating these vulnerable creatures. By educating the public on the importance of habitat preservation and responsible pet ownership, we can help reduce the instances of baby birds in distress. 🌍 Moreover, caring for these birds fosters a connection to nature and encourages environmental stewardship. 🌿 As we protect and nurture these small lives, we reaffirm our commitment to the planet and its diverse ecosystems. In doing so, we not only help individual birds but also promote biodiversity and the health of our shared environment. 🦋 #BirdRescue #WildlifeConservation #BabyBirds #NatureCare #EnvironmentalStewardship #Biodiversity #CompassionForAnimals #ProtectWildlife

🌟WEDNESDAY WIN🌟 Bradford and South Pennines Bradford City’s Moorland birds will flourish with a new partnership project spreading over 300 square kilometres of Bradford City and surrounding areas. The Project will restore habitats for moorland birds such as ‘the endangered Twite’ and will help to manage and reduce flood risks by: • Connecting wetland habitats to allow a more natural flow of water which will prevent build ups and overflow. • Creating ‘Green Corridors’ / biodiversity corridors, that allow birds/wildlife to move more freely, this means there will be areas designated for plants for a natural wildlife habitat. • The project will also help to restore habitats for moorland birds such as the endangered twite. The project is a huge win for wildlife but also the local communities by providing more access and connection to Nature. #MoorlandBirds #Twite #Bradford #Nature Source: https://lnkd.in/eguMZZhU

Canada’s prairie grasslands are home to diverse wildlife, including more than 60 at risk species. Yet, Canada’s grasslands are one of the world’s most endangered and least protected ecosystems, with over 60 thousand hectares, or 100,000 football fields lost every year. Landscape conversion and human activity have contributed toward the decline of this vital ecosystem, which has the unique potential to simultaneously sequester carbon, filter water and feed communities across the country. That’s why we have invested $30M over 5 years toward supporting evidence-based management and on the ground conservation. This #NationalGrasslandsAwarenessWeek (USA), join us in celebrating our Prairie Grasslands Initiative grantees Ducks Unlimited Canada Nature Conservancy of Canada/Conservation de la nature Canada Conservancy of Canada/Conservation de la nature Canada @Parks Canada Meewasin Valley Authority and Saskatchewan Stock Growers Foundation for work they continue to do in protecting and sustaining this important habitat. 🌸🌱 Embrace #NoMowMay! This movement is more than letting your lawn grow wild for a month—it's about sharing our green spaces with small creatures that need them. Lawns cover 40 million acres in the US, but they often lack the floral resources and nesting sites bees and other pollinators need. Why mow less in the Spring? The start of the growing season is critical for hungry, newly emerged native bees. Allowing your lawn to grow longer and letting flowers bloom can provide much-needed nectar and pollen. Mowing less creates habitats and boosts wildlife diversity. Even mowing every 2-3 weeks can help! Let's rethink our lawns to support pollinators and make a big impact on biodiversity. Join the movement for a greener, buzzing lawn this May and the rest of Spring! 🌿💚 #NoMowMay #PollinatorFriendly #SaveTheBees #Biodiversity #EcoFriendly #GardeningForGood #NativePlants
