L’Oréal - The brand determined to move the world with sheer beauty. Today’s Loreal presentation was indeed an eye-opening experience for us students. Amit Ranga immersed us in the world of Loreal and the brand's commitment of “freedom to go beyond" for its employees. It was interesting to know how such a big brand values and commits working as a ‘start-up’. One of the remarkable aspects is ‘Loreal for the future”: a commitment to environmental sustainability, with a pledge to become carbon neutral by 2025. This underscored the significance of responsible corporate practices in today's world. The presentation delved into the Indian professional market, addressing the challenges that young entrants may encounter and offering strategies to overcome them. Suhas Lakhamade's thorough exploration of Loreal's journey, including the evolution from the first Brand to invent harmless hair dye to the brands like Kerastase, Matrix, Biolage and Cheryl's (the very own Indian brand) fascinated us. The panel discussions further enriched our understanding and clarified our queries. Preeti Suman, Ishani Sinha, Ayan Sahay and Bindhyesh Tiwari emphasized the key competencies required for sales professionals, emphasizing relationship management and integration. Aditya Mehrotra stressed the importance of a candidate's hunger for success, while GAURAW PANT encouraged innovative thinking, portraying Loreal's dynamic and forward-thinking culture. Above all, the presentation highlighted that Loreal isn't just a brand with quantitative values but one that connects with countless emotions, making it unique in the beauty and cosmetics industry. A Glimpse into Innovation and Sustainability 🏭 Today, I got the privilege of visiting Henkel’s 6th of October Plant. I must say, it was an eye-opening experience. Here's a brief overview of my key takeaways: 1. Cutting-Edge Technology: We witnessed their advanced machinery an automated systems.It’s clear that Henkel is dedicated to stay ahead in the industry. 2. Passionate Team: One of the most inspiring aspects was meeting the dedicated individuals behind the scenes. From engineers to technicians, their enthusiasm spoke volumes about the company culture. 3. Sustainability Initiatives: Henkel's commitment to sustainability was bold. From energy-efficient practices to waste reduction strategies, every effort is being made to minimize the company's environmental footprint. Rather than a passive tour, we were encouraged to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the manufacturing process. Overall, my plant visit to Henkel was both enlightening and inspiring. Did you know that L'Oreal's largest DC in the USA has been automated with us? L'Oréal, the world leader in beauty, automated their DC in Walton, US with our support. The key objectives for the automation have been clear since the beginning: 1. Reduce the facility operations from three shift to two shift operation. 2. Improve the customer service quality 3. Ensure and improve environmental, health and safety aspect from an ergonomic standpoint. The results have been phenomenal! By moving away from manual packing, L'Oreal has successfully reduced the manual tonnage by a staggering 10 million pounds per year in the Walton DC. This significant change not only addressed environmental, health, and safety risks but also boosted customer service levels. This highlights Henkel’s great culture and ethos. - Their processes, from briefing on safety measures to participant approvals for photo use, showed their commitment to thoroughness in every detail - Their product range for over 800 industries shows a massive investment in R&D and providing solutions for every industry from air taxi’s, diapers, health gadgets, mobile phone, apparels, automobile industry & so on. You name it and they have a solution. - Minutes after bonding the windscreen, the video of the crash test of the car highlighted their rigorous testing methods - Henkel impressed us with their confidence in their products.
