Tune in… CCS’ Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Marvin Konstam, provided highlights of the ANTHEM trial presented at the Late Breaking Trial session at HFSA in October during this episode of the “Heart Failure Beat.” Highlights included: - ANTHEM-HFrEF pivotal study design was adaptive in nature to recruit up to 1,000 patients, but terminated by the Sponsor at 532 patients for non-safety related reasons. - The original statistical analysis plan was amended with prespecified win ratio endpoints (time to CV death, number of HF hospitalizations, performance of the Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire) and demonstrated a favorable trend with a point estimate of hazard ratio of .84.  - Secondary endpoints demonstrated a statistically significant win ratio associated with all three components contributing towards a positive trend favoring the treatment, with a win ratio of 1.25. - The safety endpoint was achieved (96% freedom from device related events).
