Event invites should always come with two timings: 1️⃣ For the punctual ones who respect the clock. 2️⃣ For the "local city standard time" crew who run on their own schedule. Because let’s face it, we all know both groups exist! 😄⏰ What do you think? And more importantly, which group do you belong to? Let me know in the comments! ⏰👇 #TimeManagement #EventPlanning #JustSaying

Compassionate Cuppa recently attended a 'Co-Production Session' at Southampton Voluntary Services. We are very grateful to Rebecca Kinge for co-ordinating the event 💜 We wanted to involve others in the development of Compassionate Cuppa's Calm Area provision. This is to help conferences and community events be more inclusive and accessible. Calm Areas may alternatively be called Quiet Spaces. We've called them Calm Areas because conveys the purpose of the space - whether you experience stress, overwhelm or sensory overload, it's a safe space to be supported to find your calm. 🌸 The provision of a Calm Area is far from mainstream. If you went to an event, do you think having access to one would be beneficial for you? Could this be the difference between attending an event and leaving early, or not going at all? Please leave any comments below 👇 or DM us 💜 Image Description: At the top is the title Calm Area Have a cuppa here on us. In the middle shows an ideas board with various project ideas written down. On the bottom right are the hashtags CalmArea, InclusiveSpaces and EmpathyInAction. On the bottom right is the Compassionate Cuppa logo. #CompassionateCuppa #CalmArea #InclusiveSpaces #AccessibleEvents #CoProductionSession #CommunitySupport #QuietSpaces #SupportiveEnvironment #EventInclusion #CalmnessMatters #SafeSpaces #EventAccessibility #SupportForAll #CalmAreaProvision #EmpathyInAction

Here's what event organisers aren’t telling you when you book tickets: Events are hotbeds for crime. And I want to be able to make the world a safer place, but there are so many variables. So, the first step I need to take is to educate people. If you’re an event organiser, or attending several events at different places, try to consider the different risks that go hand in hand with the location you’re at. Things like open spaces, large crowds, desolate locations without signal, because once you identify the risks, you can start to mitigate them. Like if you’re an event organiser, you can introduce safeguarding! Or if you’re an attendee you can start to put together a kit of emergency items. Safety should always be EVERYONE’s number one priority. And my LinkedIn has a tonne of resources that you can use. Whether you’re an event attendee or an event organiser, having safeguarding helps keep everyone safe. #safeguardingexpert #events #safety #eventsafeguarding

It’s a hot one in London today! ☀ With warmer weather comes a big responsibility for event organisers to put contingency plans in place to ensure the safety of their attendees and team, whilst also limiting their environmental impact. As global temperatures rise, the number of days the UK observes 25 °C or more will increase* which means more events happening during toasty temperatures. We’ve shared a blog post featuring some of things organisers should be thinking about during the planning stages for their summer events as well as some last minute pointers if your event is just around the corner. 👍 I enjoyed putting this Thought piece together. The beauty of sticking your head above the parapet with pieces like this, is that it's win-win. 🏆 ✅ Yes, some people may disagree with my viewpoints. 🤷♀️ They may be people I respect. 👌 Some may even be people in this #eventsafety game longer than I am. That's all good. 👍 If it prompts discussion and respectful debate among people who know what they're talking about, then I call that win-win. 🏆 ❓ What am I wrong about in this article? ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e6QfqTMA #enablingcreativity #SafeEventsGlobal #eventprofs #crowdsafety #eventprofsUK #eventsafety
In our last Thought (Blog Post) of 2024, our Strategic Director, Mark Breen, 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. He addresses the core quandary of: ❓ 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁? 📙 We know not everyone agrees on this one. It would be strange if they did, but hopefully this Thought piece prompts some further discussion around a topic that our Operational Teams are finding coming up with more frequency on #events around the world. 🤔 There's confusion out there - not least among those of us involved in both Crowd Safety and Crowd Management. Let's take a look. https://lnkd.in/e_qxZh4y #enablingcreativity #SafeEventsGlobal #eventprofs #crowdsafety #eventprofsUK #eventsafety
