We have been participating in #HorizonEurope's SUM Project for about a year and a half. 9 cities, and about 20 other organizations (academic and business) are partners in the research association. Each city is looking at a different Shared Urban #Mobility (SUM) project. The Israeli group (Jerusalem Municipality, Tel-Aviv University's Auto-Lab, JTMT, and Sigma-6) is examining the implementation of Raid Hailing in the Yuvalim-Ganim area. With the help of digital analysis tools, surveys and mutual learning - we will suggest the optimal methode to implement the service. In the next post: an excellent example of the implementation of a SUM project. Thanks to the people of Fredrikstad and all the other Living Labs for the information that passes between us. This will make the #Jerusalem project better!
#LivingLab 💡 Co-creating urban mobility: Collaborative solutions for #Fredrikstad’s electric ferry link ⛴ A prime example of co-created mobility solutions is in one of the project's #LivingLabs: Fredrikstad- where the city and Chalmers University of Technology are holding workshops to develop a new electric automated ferry link. This link will connect the island of #Kråkerøy with the south bank of the river Glomma, linking the old, fortified city with the industrial area of #Øra and making commuting by bike, foot and shared micro-mobility more attractive. The workshop series begins with sessions where #citizens, city representatives and the local ferry operator discuss current commuting patterns. Questions explored include: - What other activities are included in the journey? - Which routes are used? - What parts of the journey are considered positive experiences and why? The impact of the new ferry service on commuting is then explored. What activities and experiences will change, positively or negatively? Armed with this knowledge, the SUM Project will involve local businesses and service providers in further workshops to co-create solutions. ✔ The primary goal is to make the new route more attractive to a wider audience by incorporating as many positive experiences and activities from current commuters as possible, thus encouraging more people to use this sustainable transport option. Another aim is to create new business opportunities. ⏯ The end result will conclude in a more attractive ferry service that considers the whole commute, with solutions that are likely to be adopted and sustained beyond the life of the project. 🖱 Investigate SUM Project's #LivingLabs here: https://bit.ly/4bKdGI3 Chalmers University of Technology Tom Mauno #SUMproject #SeamlessUrbanMobility #Fredrikstad #Norway #Transport #UrbanMobility #SmartCities #Sustainability #Innovation #Collaboration #Fredrikstad

Vianova I/O is doing amazing things in the Netherlands as part of a consortium to develop best practices for use of the public sphere - quick read below. #mobility #publicspace #publictransportation
Definitely one of the most exciting initiatives of my career so far. Getting to work with cities creating the best practices and not just replicating them was a big part of the reason I moved to Europe to join Vianova I/O . When it comes to sustainable transport, there are few pushing the envelope further than City of Amsterdam. It's really exciting to be a part of this 23m € project around mode shift through better digital tooling. Over the last year in the planning phase, I've gotten to work with some incredibly bright partners at Gemeente Almere, Groningen Bereikbaar, Goudappel, Technolution, and AMS Institute to lay out how we want to work together and what we want to build. I'm super excited to roll up our sleeves and get to work over the next few years building useful and actionable insights.
