Meet Clare Maddock Clare’s journey with Forgotten Dogs of Turkey began five years ago when she went to Turkey for a holiday and fell in love with a cat in Kalkan. Trying to find a way to bring the cat to the UK, she connected with Claire Daulton, who introduced her to the rescue community in Turkey. Around the same time, Clare encountered a disturbing Facebook post showing a shelter in Turkey with horrendous conditions. Determined to help, she set up a Facebook group to raise awareness and gather support. In March 2020, Clare's efforts began to take shape. She discovered the immense problem of thousands of stray dogs on the streets and shelters rife with parvo and distemper. A German charity reached out to her, and with growing support, Clare began to raise funds to help the dogs. Despite facing personal challenges, including a cancer diagnosis, Clare continued her relentless work. Alongside a dedicated team, including Jacky Primrose and Donna Evans, Clare expanded their efforts, launching an online shop and organising fundraisers. Clare's tireless work has led to numerous successes. In the past four weeks alone, they have: ➡️ Rescued a neurologically damaged dog, arranging for its veterinary care and foster home. ➡️ Raised funds to help feed stray dogs in Corum, including mothers with puppies. ➡️ Collaborated with Paws and Claws and Oys Sume Davidson to help ten puppies brought to their attention by a tourist. ➡️ Arranged care and spaying for a street dog in Antalya. ➡️ Paid for the treatment of two puppies found in Nigde, now safe from danger. People often ask Clare…. Why she does it? Raising funds for dogs she will never meet? She finds joy in knowing that a poorly or injured dog has been rescued and treated. The transformation of these dogs, from their initial suffering to their recovery, brings her immense satisfaction. Clare feels fortunate to have the support of volunteers both in Turkey and the UK, enabling them to continue their vital work. If you're considering adding a furry friend to your family, please consider adopting one of the many deserving dogs from Forgotten Dogs of Turkey. By adopting, you not only give a dog a loving home but also make room for them to rescue another dog in need. 🐾 MasterZoo's Initiative: Giving Homeless Animals a Family 🐾 At MasterZoo, the largest chain of pet markets in Ukraine, we recognize that we can have the opportunity to influence the problem of homeless animals in Ukraine, which number almost 140,000 nowadays. Together with the charity vector of the group of companies, Suziria Charity, we aim to find integrated and efficient tackling that challenge step by step. 🐾What We Do: Alongside supporting animal shelters, we've pioneered an adoption program and aim to connect homeless animals with loving families. In this project, our stores become the place that allows potential pet owners to meet their future furry friends. 🐾How It Works: Visitors can browse through photos of homeless dogs and cats displayed on information boards in any of our 190+ stores in 36 cities across Ukraine. For those ready to welcome a new companion, we offer detailed care consultations and a thoughtful gift box to support pet parents on their journey. 🐾Meet Your New Best Friend: In 25 selected stores, you have the opportunity to meet some of the cats in person, thanks to our dedicated volunteer partners. This interaction enables you to forge a connection and make the life-changing decision to adopt. 🐾 Result: Since the launch of our adoption project in March 2023, we found families for 100 cats by December of the same year. We are happy with these small results and recognize that it's just the beginning of our initiative as we are still fine-tuning the processes. Our ultimate goal is to scale this project, contributing to a lasting solution to the issue of homeless animals in Ukraine.

Can you make a difference to animal shelters if you can't adopt or foster? Absolutely YES! Summer is a particularly exciting time for shelters. With warm weather comes an influx of pets, and while it might seem challenging, it's also an opportunity for communities to come together and support these wonderful animals. Trends come and go—during the pandemic, many people adopted puppies for companionship. Now, with life returning to a busy routine, some find they need extra help caring for their pets. That's where our incredible community steps in to ensure every pet finds the love and care they deserve. There's a constant flow of animals, especially dogs, who are ready to be loved. This is where YOU can shine. Now is the perfect time to make a difference, even if you can't adopt a dog. (Though if you can, there are HUNDREDS of wagging tails ready for a forever home at shelters around the country. 🐕. Donate food. Most shelters welcome unopened bags or cans of food, so if you have any surplus or your pet didn't take to a certain brand, consider donating it to your local shelter. ⏰ ⏰ Donate your time. From comforting animals to prepping toys and treats, there's always something you can help with. Your time and compassion can make a world of difference, ensuring these pets feel loved and cared for. As a visual storyteller, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful a single image can be in raising awareness and driving action. Through my work, I strive to capture the essence of these incredible animals and the tireless efforts of those who care for them. Every snapshot tells a story, and every story has the potential to inspire others to act. Together, let’s bridge the gap between animal rescue and the booming pet industry, using empathy and connection to make a tangible impact. Whether it's through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, your actions matter. Let’s make a difference—one wagging tail at a time. 🐾 👉 Click and FOLLOW my LinkedIn hashtag #dogsimeet for more Dog Tales and brand marketing tips and advice. #dogs #community #animalwelfare #kindness

TODAY IS NATIONAL “MUTT” DAY! Celebrating the joy of mixed-breed dogs… National Mutt Day, celebrated twice a year, falls on July 31 and December 2. This special day is dedicated to recognising the unique charm of mixed-breed dogs and encouraging their adoption from shelters. National Mutt Day aims to raise awareness about the countless mixed-breed dogs in need of loving homes. HOW TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL MUTT DAY? Adopt a Mutt: Consider opening your home to a mixed-breed dog in need. Many shelters and rescue organisations have a variety of mutts looking for forever homes. Adopting a mutt not only saves a life but also adds a loyal companion to your family. Volunteer or Donate: Support local animal shelters or rescue groups by volunteering your time or making a donation. These organisations often rely on community support to provide care for the animals and facilitate adoptions. WHY NATIONAL MUTT DAY MATTERS? National Mutt Day plays a crucial role in spotlighting the value and love that mixed-breed dogs bring into our lives. Unlike purebred dogs, mutts often face higher rates of neglect and abandonment. By celebrating this day, we help to combat misconceptions about mixed-breed dogs and promote their adoption. In addition, mixed-breed dogs come with a range of unique traits and personalities, often reflecting the best qualities of multiple breeds. Their diversity in appearance and behaviour makes each one special, and National Mutt Day is an opportunity to celebrate these one-of-a-kind pets. Link to full article - https://lnkd.in/gwv5vSJy

CEO Rescue Dogs Rock DC -501(c)(3)-raising capital for dog rescues in the Washington DC area.🐾🐾🇺🇸 in the U.S.A.
Sunday, May 19, 2024 Tomorrow May 20, 2024 is National Rescue Dog🐾🐾 Day! You can make a positive difference in the lives of rescue dogs🐾🐾 every day! Here are some great ideas of how you can celebrate National Rescue Dog🐾🐾 Day tomorrow; POST A PHOTO: Share a photo of your rescue dog🐾🐾 on social media by using #nationalrescuedogday Explain what makes your rescue dog🐾🐾 special to inspire others to adopt! GIVE LOVE: Shower your rescue dog🐾🐾 with love in the form of a leisurely walk, a delicious treat, a new toy, or just some extra cuddle time. ADOPT: Adopt a dog🐾🐾 from a local shelter or a pure breed rescue group to save a life. FOSTER: Provide a temporary home for a rescue dog🐾🐾. Many dogs🐾🐾 abandoned to shelters benefit from socialization, or would just thrive better away from the shelter environment. Others may need some medical care or rehabilitation in a home setting before an adoption can take place. This is also a great way to see if you’re ready to adopt and make the life-long commitment. HELP A SHELTER: Check your local shelter website to donate and to view their wish list of much needed items such as blankets, toys, treats, and leashes. You can also host a bake sale, car wash, or other event and donate the proceeds back to the shelter. VOLUNTEER: Help out at your local shelter. Taking dogs🐾🐾 for walks, grooming, and giving them plenty of affection improves their socialization. SPAY/NEUTER: Be responsible for your pets. Overpopulation is the number one reason shelters exist. EDUCATE: Teach young children the importance of kindness, unconditional love, and responsible care of all animals. Sincerely, Douglas Joyce C.E.O. Just shy of the six week countdown to the Round the Clock Rescue Run I want to share (for myself at least) an unprecedented work selfie. Yes I am holding puppies in a baby carrier, as I worked flexibly (enormous thank you to Integrion Consulting and BHP for facilitating this) to be able to foster them until they were old enough to be adopted (there was a third running around somewhere in the background too). This unprecedented moment is as a result of unprecedented challenges facing the Dogs’ Refuge Home (DRH), Shenton Park (echoed at animal refuges globally) with: - Unprecedented numbers of surrenders due to the cost of living crisis. Last Sunday the DRH had ~200 dogs in its care and it managed to find the resources to accept an additional 23 puppies from rural Western Australia. - Unprecedented numbers of domestic animals not being sterilised, with unsterilised surrenders at the DRH increasing from ~44% to ~74% in the past five years. Did you know one unsterilised female dog and her unsterilised litters over a period of 6 years can produce 67,000 unplanned puppies! - Unprecedentedly low adoption to surrender rates. The DRH is a no kill shelter and the only way they can help more dogs is through adoptions. One of its beloved residents has been in the DRH’s care for more than 900 days! - Unprecedented operating expenses (as resources are needing to be spread even more thinly), which will need to be filled by the generosity of the community. - Unprecedented (I hope, but sadly I know I might have embellished the uniqueness of this tragedy) animal mistreatment, with puppies and expectant mum’s being left in rubbish bins with no way to escape unless found by strangers or local Rangers. The DRH has responded to circumstances like this twice in the last month! These ‘unprecedented’ factors are just some of the drivers motivating the Round the Clock Rescue Run, as Willie Richards and I try and raise crucial funds for the DRH. If you’re interested in getting involved as a Running Allie or Challenge Champion, please reach out, as ultimately the more legs this challenge grows, the more paws that can be supported 🐾 Follow 👉 @500kmplus @dogsrefugehome Donate now 👉 https://lnkd.in/gZGQsif8

CELEBRATE 'CHANGE A DOG'S LIFE' DAY WITH VOSD 'Change a Dog's Life Day' is celebrated on January 24th each year. The idea is to take positive actions to improve the lives of dogs around us. This year we at VOSD are marking the day with much enthusiasm, if you would also like to join us in our initiative then we have the following suggestions for you to celebrate 'Change a dog's life day'. 1. Consider adopting a stray dog or a dog from a shelter or rescue organization. If you can't make a long-term commitment, fostering is a great way to provide temporary care for a dog in need. 2. Spend your day volunteering at a local animal shelter. Offer your time to walk dogs, play with them, and help with daily care routines. Shelters often appreciate assistance in various capacities. 3. Donate supplies, money, or your time to a rescue organization dedicated to improving the lives of dogs. Your contribution can make a significant difference. You can help 1500 dogs living on VOSD sanctuary grounds by donating here https://lnkd.in/gtbMxZ9 4. Get the stray dogs in your locality vaccinated or take them for a veterinary check-up. 5. Prepare special homemade treats or meals for stray dogs in your area. 6. Spend time talking to the dogs and playing with them. 7. If possible, get a stray dog sterilized with the help of a good NGO. Remember, every day can be an opportunity to improve a dog's life. Whether it's a special day or just a regular one, the love and care you provide contributes to your furry friends’ happiness and well-being. VOSD is India's largest non-profit organisation for dogs. Over 30,000 dogs have been rescued by us over a decade and we admit 300-400 dogs to the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital annually. VOSD provides the most sophisticated and expensive medical care and rehabilitation services at no cost for stray dogs and abandoned pet dogs. VOSD is a dog's best friend. Animal Shelters play a crucial role in our communities, providing care and hope for countless animals in need. Many are at capacity and need our help! Here are some meaningful ways you can support your local shelter: 🐾 **How to Support Your Local Animal Shelter** 🐾 1. **Adopt, Don’t Shop**: The most impactful way to help is by adopting a pet. You give a deserving animal a loving home and free up space for another animal in need. 2. **Volunteer Your Time**: Shelters often rely on volunteers to help with daily operations. Whether it's walking dogs, cleaning, or assisting with events, your time can make a big difference. 3. **Donate Supplies**: Shelters always need supplies like food, toys, blankets, and cleaning materials. Check with your local shelter to see what they need most. 4. **Monetary Donations**: Financial contributions help shelters cover medical costs, facility maintenance, and other essential services. Even small donations can have a big impact. 5. **Foster a Pet**: If you can’t commit to adoption, consider fostering. This temporary care can provide much-needed relief to overcrowded shelters and give animals a better chance at finding a permanent home. 6. **Spread the Word**: Use your social media platforms to raise awareness about the shelter, its needs, and the animals up for adoption. The more people know, the more help they can provide. 7. **Participate in Events**: Attend and support fundraising events organized by the shelter. These events are often critical to their operations and can be a fun way to contribute. 8. **Advocate for Animal Welfare**: Get involved in local advocacy efforts to improve conditions for animals and support policies that benefit shelters and their inhabitants. Your support, in any form, can make a significant impact on the lives of shelter animals. Together, we can ensure these wonderful creatures receive the care and love they deserve. 🐕❤️ #SupportLocalShelters #AnimalWelfare #AdoptDontShop #Volunteer #FosterPets #DonateToShelters #CommunitySupport

Last year, our country needlessly euthanized over 400,000 adoptable dogs and cats in shelters. Additionally, over 900,000 pets are lingering in shelters and rescues waiting for their fate. With an uptick in intake and a downward trend in adoptions, especially for medium and large dogs, our nation's shelters and rescues are struggling. Including us. But there's hope. New data suggests that if just 6% of people intending to add a pet to their home this year choose to adopt instead of shop, we can completely eliminate needless euthanasia. So we need you. To adopt, to foster, to volunteer, to donate, to spread the word. Whatever you can do, help us close that gap. Help us save them -> onetail.org Data credit: Best Friends Animal Society

INCOME grows monthly forever. NO crypto, pyramids or gimmicks. PT, FT, side hustle. Learn how TOXIC your daily coffee/tea is WHILE helping us END the 2,7 MILLION annual deaths of cats and dogs in US/Cdn shelters.
I am calling EVERYONE OUT on this to do something about this. 7400 killings per day (that number was 5500 only 2 years ago). MORE details in the comment section. FYI EVERYONE! For almost 3 years I have offered 100's of broke animal rescues starving and CRYING for donations... yet they change NOTHING (the living definition of insanity) FREE fundraisers that will actually appeal/give back/REWARD the followers for supporting them growing monthly in revenue for the FOREVER! ALL rescues except 1 in Texas (where I orignially posted this note re: another dog being killed in a shelter) have refused my FREE help. Rescues foolishly believe they're making a difference (how, when 2 cats produce 420,000 kittens in only 7 years?), maybe it's ego, vanity... or just a complete lack of business common sense. 7400 cats and dogs are killed DAILY in US and Cdn. shelters alone, that's 2.7 MILLION annually... 1 every 10 seconds. What will YOU help ME do about this NOW? www.TessasLegacyCafe.com Only 2 years ago that number was 5500 per day. Rescues aren't even keeping up anymore. When they refuse to adapt to this new, permanent GLOBAL (it's not a Biden/Trump or Turdeau thing), the are choosing to FAIL these animals. FOLLOW MY PAGE HERE for the ONLY COLLECTIVE PLAN IN THE WORLD TO EMPTY THE SHELTERS. PUSH YOUR LOCAL RESCUES TO CONTACT ME, YES... YOU CONTACT THEM, SEND THEM TO ME. Not a single rescue out there is ADRESSING THE REAL ISSUE OF THE ANIMAL BIRTHRATE EXPLOSION. Less keyboarding, MORE doing by EVERYONE.
