For a number of years, we’ve heard that regenerative agriculture is too context-specific to define. In fact, there is still no legal definition. Over the same period, we’ve seen a huge increase in the use of the term, but with little action to back it up. Has the lack of standardisation inhibited progress? And without an agreed-upon definition, are vague commitments and a lack of substance inevitable? Providing future generations with a rich and nutritious food supply will require innovative thinking and creative solutions that bring all stakeholders closer together. It will also require providing farmers with the means to nurture our precious resources through the tests of time and climate volatility. It’s great to see advancement and leadership towards meeting these high expectations.
