With support from volunteers, Ronald McDonald House Charities take away this stress for families. 🛒 🥗 🧆 As part of the Home for Dinner program, Team Calgary went on a grocery haul & cooked up a flavourful dinner for families staying at the House. This is how office conversions help address Toronto's homeless crisis: https://bit.ly/47kn3Np 🏢 👉 🏡   An estimated 10,627 people were "actively homeless" in the last three months, according to data from the City of Toronto.   Numbers like this call for creative solutions. 💡 Transforming empty offices into shelters is one that's picked up traction.   “Our team has been responsible for directly creating 404 beds in the Toronto Shelter system & that system is near or at 100% every night,” says RJC Principal Paul Fritze in conversation with SiteNews.   “We probably wouldn’t have been able to turn around these projects if it wasn’t for a conversions approach.”   Our work at projects like 4117 Lawrence Ave. East & 101 Placer Court meant changing older, unused buildings into spaces that serve an important community need.   ✅ Both reimagined locations are equipped to service homeless community members with lots of beds & dining spaces among other amenities.   “As a structural engineers, we don’t necessarily get to do such socially impactful work every day, so this is near & dear to us as it creates a tangible difference." #engineeringproject #homelessness #structuralengineers #torontoontario #engineeringconsultants #cityoftoronto

Meet Alberta's first community wellness hub. 👩⚕️ 🏥 👋   When it opens in 2025, Covenant Wellness Community will house many outpatient clinics now located at Grey Nuns Community Hospital.
