🚶As you walk around, you might not notice the electric lines surrounding you, delivering light and power wherever you go. Yet, across the European Union, more than 2,300 Distribution System Operators (#DSOs) make this possible.    🔎 Now, it’s time to bring them into the spotlight thanks to DSO Entity #ExploreEUGrid campaign unveiling our EU DSO map!! 💡  We are proud to present the EU DSO Map, shining light on the #EnergyTransition’s enablers, and of our everyday lives.  DSOs are the true drivers of the Green Deal’s objectives and the prerequisite for a functioning electricity market, as they manage: 97% of the EU’s power lines and connect 70% of renewable energy sources to the distribution grid by 2030. 🗺️ The Map: 👉 Offers an overview of the EU’s key energy targets and their implication for DSOs on the ground  👉 Gathers all data on the state of play of DSOs in Europe on one single chart  👉 Allows comparison between countries  👉 Showcases the national profiles of the distribution grid and their diversity through data collected by our DSO members for each country:    - The number of DSOs and the level of concentration of DSOs   - The number of connected customers   - The length of distribution grids   - The percentage of #SmartMeters deployed across the EU In the coming weeks, we will #ExploreEUGrid’s data, exploring the diversity of DSOs within the EU and highlighting their crucial role in achieving the EU’s climate and energy goals.
