The first and most important aspect to promote biological diversity is the promotion of human and cultural diversity, as many human cultures live in a peaceful and symbiotic relation with other animal and plant species.
One year ago, 196 governments adopted the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
We are now in a race against time to achieve its ambitious 30x30 target—protect 30 percent of the planet by 2030.
Together, more than 200 zoos and aquariums, as part of AZA and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), support the #30x30 goal of protecting and conserving at least 30 percent of nature by 2030.

I am drawn to community, finding purpose in the quest for being needed. Often labeled as givers, many of us grapple with the burden of saying "no".
Our accommodating nature makes us approachable and fosters collaboration.
Despite vulnerability, resilience defines us. We endure the depletion of resources; as they diminish, our sustainability weakens.
Drowning in others' negligence follows our generosity. Consequently, takers seek new resources, leaving invaluable remnants behind.
However, over time, these overlooked fragments regenerate, fortifying beneath the surface and emerging with a foundation for growth.
In this scenario, vulnerability is apparent. If givers cease their contributions, there's nothing left to take.
Just as we seek solace to heal and transform adversity into strength, nature - the bedrock of our existence - yearns for the same tranquility as the world.
Listen to the Earth's plea! It's drowning, and our disregard as takers is our downfall.
Astonishingly, one vessel awaits both givers and takers, beckoning unity.
🤔 Why not allow nature's healing? Refraining from exploitation aids in its self-rejuvenation.
It necessitates no action but a conscientious decision to prevent further harm.
True conservation entails protecting nature from exploitation.
🌄 Let nature reclaim its rightful place - between sky and ground, within the waters - unconfined by barriers.
Earth and Nature, our revered mother, deserve respect even in weariness. Let her rest then.
Despite the multitude of activities, regulations, and differing opinions, disorientation prevails. This chaos yearns for tranquility.
Concern for climate issues escalates, seeking universal unity and focused action.
Recently, I joined Oliver Dauert's initiative, Eco-allies, a community bustling with proactive individuals and like-minded defenders of nature. It is also a safe place to express emotions, particularly when witnessing the suffering of our planet, akin to a distressed mother.
Before encountering subsequent posts, I avoided delving into "biodiversity" due to its perceived complexity.
Thanks to the guide below, I understand that, though intricate, its concept is simple: protect what we cherish by abstaining from harm out of love.
We should not cease our love and reverence for Mother Earth, for by doing so, she shall rise anew. 💞

To monitor biodiversity comprehensively, we need indicators that reflect different aspects of biodiversity: both direct impacts as well as long-term-developments.🍃 Whereas our indicators for harvesting measure impact everywhere we operate in the North, our long-term biodiversity indicators monitor the conditions for biodiversity and their long-term developments across forest landscapes in our own forests in Sweden.☀️
On own forest land, we can make faster decisions and have long-term visibility into the developments. We are also evaluating opportunities to help private forest owners assess biodiversity in their forests.🌳
