⚙️ ‘NEMOs are one of the key pillars of the new Electricity Market Design (EMD) which has acknowledged the benefits the Single Day-ahead & Intraday Couplings (SDAC & SIDC) have brought to all Europeans and maintains the fundamentals of short- and long-term markets.’ ‘Аccording to the new market design NEMOs will continue to jointly operate Market coupling operations and stay committed to the European internal market with the knowledge and experience gained in the last 25 years of successful market operations.’ 📽 You can watch more on the role of NEMOs in the video with the ALL NEMO Committee Chairman- Rafael Gómez-Elvira González. The EMD was adopted by the European Council yesterday and earlier in April by the European Parliament. Entry into force is expected after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. 📄

K.R. Julian Chun explains the mapping and energy selection strategy using the Affera system. He highlights an area of interest on the roof of the left atrium where ablation will be performed. Prof Julian Chun details their preference for using RF energy for anterior lines while favouring pulsed field ablation in other regions, including this site. He underscores the importance of switching to PFA near sensitive structures, like the phrenic nerve, for safety reasons. The video concludes with the initiation of the first ablation application using PFA.

Electricity, planning and permitting reforms are essential for getting to a fair and efficient playing field.

At EEI 2024 Jensen Huang talked about a new business model for electric utilities where the grid becomes a marketplace that dynamically connects new supply and demand (Pedro Pizarro got to teach Jensen the term "DERMS"). These new supply-demand load profiles will have an unknown impact on equipment performance including premature failure. Asset traceability will be increasingly important for monitoring, understanding, and predicting equipment performance resulting from these load profile changes.

AEMO has spent months planning and preparing with industry and governments to navigate potential reliability risks to Australia’s main power systems this summer.  AEMO’s preparation includes providing forecasts and briefings of the upcoming summer covering weather and system readiness and how to maximise generation and network availability over expected high demand periods. As part of this, AEMO undertakes extensive planning to ensure there is adequate supply to meet anticipated demand including tendering for additional off-market generation and demand side response capacity. “What are some of the benefits of using Thorium Molten Salt Burners? JEJ: Again, the energy obtained from a Thorium Molten Salt Burner is orders of magnitude higher than any other form of energy source we presently have on this planet. The fuel is abundant - as common as lead - and hence Thorium is very cheap as a fuel source. We have thousands of years of supply on the planet and many countries will become energy independent using it. Producing energy from Thorium Molten Salt has a tiny impact on the environment. What remains after energy production is tiny and much easier to handle than the billions of tonnes of poisonous waste from a coal-fired power station or the millions of tonnes of toxins from the manufacturing of solar panels or even the hundreds of thousands of discarded wind turbines (after only 20 years of useful life). In my book that’s the only way to go.” Australians please help lift our nuclear bans!
