Reflecting on 2023 at LHi London on our last full working day... Admittedly, H1 unfolded differently than anticipated, but our resilience and adaptability shone through in H2, yielding results that truly make us proud and building momentum for 2024. Inspired by Nike's 2012 Summer Olympics "Find Your Greatness" campaign, I issued a challenge to our London team to discover their greatness by surpassing their H1 performance within a mere 5 months of H2. To sweeten the deal, those who achieved the most significant improvement would earn a pair of exclusive custom Nike Dunks. The outcome exceeded expectations, with over 40% of our team surpassing their H1 performance in only 5 months of H2. This not only signals positive market trends but also showcases the team's ability to adapt, unwavering determination for self-improvement and the commitment from our leadership team to support their people to achieve their goals. Imagine a uniform collection tailored to fit a diverse range of body shapes, including individuals with disabilities. Sounds improbable, and yet possible! Just as Palta did for the Israeli Paralympic delegation in Tokyo 2020, lululemon has taken a groundbreaking step in inclusive design by creating a unified kit for both the Olympic and Paralympic teams representing Canada at the Paris 2024 Games. The process of designing for such a diverse group of athletes is far more intricate than one might imagine. From accommodating various body shapes to addressing the unique needs of Olympic and Paralympic competitors, the challenges are substantial. Bureaucracy adds another layer of complexity, with each athlete represented by different committees, budgets, and sponsors. Yet, despite these obstacles, a vision driven by a sense of purpose prevails. During the design phase, lululemon engaged in extensive product testing and feedback sessions with 19 Canadian athletes from 14 different sports, ensuring a deep understanding of their specific requirements for optimal performance during the Games. Kudos to the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee for embracing this transformative approach and paving the way for a more inclusive future in sports.
