"Fostering Peace as a Prerequisite for Equitable Health" is the theme for World Federation of Public Health Associations' #GlobalPublicHealthWeek. Peace and stability are essential to achieving equitable health outcomes for populations. When there is peace and stability people can access #Healthcare facilities without fear or disruption. The hospitals, clinics, and medical supply chains, which are vital for delivering quality healthcare services can be developed and maintained, and the underlying social determinants of health, such as poverty, inequality, and lack of education can be addressed. Evaluating the PHIRST scheme We launched the first Public Health Intervention Responsive Studies Teams (PHIRST) scheme back in 2020 and we’re now funding eight academic research teams. PHIRST teams rapidly and robustly evaluate interventions put forward by local government organisations in the UK, where such interventions may impact on health or health inequalities. A key driver behind the launch of the PHIRST scheme was a recognition that whilst local government organisations play a vital role in their local communities – with an ability to influence public health – they had not always been able to access the research and evaluation support. We want to discover the difference that the PHIRST scheme is making, whether it’s meeting its goals and if it’s fit for purpose. To do this, we’re offering #ResearchFunding for a 12-15 month evaluation. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eqFmdEUu

Our team's original research has led to a powerful conclusion: understanding how patients engage with health-related content on social media can lead to more effective public health interventions. By tailoring our approach to patients' medical conditions, we can create a more impactful online health education that will help drive positive health outcomes. Consilience Group and NACCHO: Strengthening Health Equity in Local Health Departments Consilience Group is proud to partner with the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Initiative to Address COVID-19 Health Disparities. Through this initiative, we’re providing training and technical assistance to local health departments (LHDs) to enhance health equity capacity, focusing on underserved populations like racial minorities and rural communities. Our work aims to bridge critical gaps in healthcare systems exposed by the pandemic by supporting LHDs in applying ethical frameworks that center community voice and promote person-centered and inclusive practices. This partnership aligns with our mission to advance health equity, address systemic inequities, and help build sustainable, equitable public health solutions. Together, we are committed to transforming health systems to serve all communities more effectively and justly. 🔗Read more about this project: https://lnkd.in/e6Sqwj6h #HealthEquity #PublicHealth #COVID19Response #SystemsTransformation #CapacityBuilding #EthicsInHealthCare

The National Centre for Creative Health and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Arts, Health and Wellbeing newly published Creative Health Review includes a fantastic range of case studies! The case studies showcase how creative health can reduce pressure on health and social care services both by preventing the onset of ill health and by supporting the management of long-term conditions, offering patients effective, non-clinical approaches that reduce reliance on healthcare services and result in cost savings. The report also examines successful models across the UK where partnerships between arts, health, social care and education are yielding positive results without high costs.
