Some of the most important safe spaces at colleges for marginalized students are the offices designed specifically with them in mind. It is disheartening to see that legislation is officially beginning to take those spaces away from the students who need it most. The University of Houston announced that due to a new Texas law, public higher ed institutions cannot have DEI officers or trainings, programs, and activities. The university, like others in Texas, was forced to shutter its Center of Diversity and Inclusion, as well as its LGBTQA Resource Center. Marginalized students statistically face more challenges at college, including discrimination and mental health issues. Taking away these safe spaces could have a few repercussions: greater rates of these issues, marginalized students spending more to attend private institutions with these programs, and fewer minorities graduating from college. Each of these will have detrimental effects on building generational wealth and diversifying our workforce.

YWCA Toronto believes in fostering a society where all women, girls, and gender diverse people can thrive. Collectively, we work tenaciously to break down barriers that perpetuate systemic inequity and gender inequality. YWCA Toronto’s work includes creating safer spaces for people of all gender and sexual orientations including Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and additional sexually and gender diverse people (2SLGBTQIA+). Recent events in Canada have shown the consequences of sharing misinformation. Policies in place to protect trans and queer youth are being manipulated and used to make people feel unsafe. We believe in safe schools that encourage respect and give all students – including trans students – the freedom to be their most authentic selves. We denounce bigotry and hate in all its forms and our commitment to working towards a world where the rights of Trans and gender diverse people are permanently upheld is unwavering. Experienced legal counsel for business people. Author and social commentator. The opinions expressed on Linkedin are my own and not that of the firms with which I am associated.
Critical Social Justice — the ideology that leads one to become “woke” is a pathology of the radical left and is code for identity politics brainwashing. “The mission of Critical Social Justice, to use its right name, is to “awaken” …( brainwash)…people to the so-called “realities” of systemic oppression in society, as it defines it.” In the past the boggie man was the decadent bourgeois West. Since Post modernism blighted the West, the enemy has been painted as a fictionalised white, male patriarchy oppressing everyone else through social power constructs including language. “The goal of “anti-racist,” “culturally aware,” and “social justice” approaches to education is to awaken a critical consciousness in our children so that they will grow up not to think critically but to think in terms of Critical Theories” and if white, to hate themselves and be ashamed of their societies. This #Wokery challenges even science and maths. “Rather than focusing on the mechanics of mathematics, students will be taught to focus on the ways they can explore topics like racism and oppression through mathematics, or leaning on math as a foil that facilitates discussions on important topics—like “who it benefits” to focus on getting right answers in mathematics.” These fanatics see everything in the West through the lens of a mythological #WhitePrivilege which they, like their Marxist comrades, seek to tear down and reconstruct… starting in schools and universities then by the recasting of language and discourse in our institutions and places of business via fifth column #DEI operatives. Cult of #CRT #CriticalRaceTheory #TruthTelling #CriticalSocialJustice #IdentityPolitics #BrainWashing
"Bringing Critical Social Justice into our educational systems is not beneficent or benign. It is a deliberate attempt to try to program our children to think in an explicitly cynical way about all matters relevant to identity." -James Lindsay

In our journey to create inclusive educational environments, All Means All is deeply committed to building consciousness for and dismantling the interconnected challenges of racism and ableism. Our opening session on these topics during our March Intensive was just the beginning of this ongoing conversation. As part of our pre-work, we reflected on a powerful podcast interview between Ibram X. Kendi and Rebecca Cokley, where they delve into the roots of ableism and racism, and the impact of these "-isms" on our society and education system. This conversation drives home the importance of the work we do at AMA and reinforces our dedication to advocating for all students, especially those who are most marginalized. We invite you to listen to this powerful podcast (linked below) and join us in our mission to ensure that All Means All in every aspect of education. Here are a few reflections from members of our newest cohort upon listening: 1️⃣ "I am curious about the concept of disability as fluid and expansive. I hadn't considered how something like long COVID or trauma from the carceral system are disabilities, and what this then means for the commitments and systemic changes that are needed." 2️⃣ "The deep-seated notion that humans have to prove their worth in order for their lives to be valuable and valued, and that some lives are not as worthy as others, is morally unacceptable. Yet, we see pervasive beliefs around this in every system in our society, some of which seem to be increasing in the current climate." 3️⃣ "I'm curious about the ways in which we use language in our schools to either hinder or harm our students with disabilities, depending on their race." 🌍 Today, we celebrate World Children's Day! 🌟 Children are our future, and it's up to us to ensure they have the best possible opportunities to pursue their dreams and unlock their potential.
