#Edinburgh Tourism Economy Spotlight - April 24: ⭐ From our research, Edinburgh welcomed at least 9 new food and beverage businesses last month along with 5 new retail offerings. ⭐ The City of Edinburgh Council published its annual statistical overview of Edinburgh for 2023 - The 'Edinburgh By Numbers' document is a comprehensive overview of many aspects of the city, including how the population, economy and environment are changing, as well as how people live, work and visit the city. ⭐Edinburgh is set for a record number of visits from cruise ships this summer. In 2023, tourism in Greater Birmingham, AL had record economic impact of $2.52B, supported 51,550 jobs, and generated $296M in state/local taxes, marking the highest tourism levels ever for Jefferson County. With 4.5% more overnight visitors, reaching 3.96M, driven by events like NCAA BB Tournament and NABJ Meeting, alongside established events like Children’s AL Indy Grand Prix. Visitor spending prioritized transportation, dining, lodging, recreation, and retail. The bureau’s report showed Birmingham as the second-largest tourism market in AL, with 14% of state travelers.
