We just placed an order for yet another 100 electric trucks 🚛🔌 We currently have the largest fleet of heavy-duty electric trucks in Europe, and with this step, we're closer to reaching the target of electrifying at least 25% of its truck fleet by 2030. "We want to drive the transition to more sustainable road transport. Our expanding fleet of electric trucks will not only contribute to reducing the climate impact of our operations. It will also enable DFDS to support more companies looking to decarbonise their supply chains. The 100 new electric trucks underline our commitment to pushing the development forward," says Niklas Andersson, EVP of the Logistics Division. ***Automotive Heavy Duty EV Transition Strategies *** • Volvo Trucks & DSV - Global Transport and Logistics have signed a cooperation agreement for 300 #EVtrucks. 🤝 • Volvo Trucks say the deal is one of the largest commercial orders to date, with DSV - Global Transport and Logistics outline it will have one of the largest company fleets of heavy #electricvehicles in Europe. ❗ • The agreement is part of DSV's plan to deploy 2,000 #electrictrucks in its fleet by 2030. 🚛 • This also includes 500 #Volvotrucks with highly fuel-efficient diesel and gas drivelines, with all trucks aimed to be delivered between 2024-2026. ⛽ • Roger Alm - President of Volvo Trucks said, "the order is proof of their trust in our company and shows that zero-exhaust emissions transport is a viable solution here and now." ☁ •  The new trucks being supplied to DSV will include the new #VolvoFH #AeroElectric , which has improved dynamics to make it more energy efficient. ⚡ • Søren Schmidt - CEO of DSV said, "collaboration across sectors is key to battle #climatechange, and we are happy to extend our partnership with Volvo in our joint effort to reduce emissions in the transport industry." 🔊

The very first public charging hub for heavy-duty vehicles from Milence is here! Milence is a joint venture created by our holding company TRATON GROUP, Daimler Truck AG and Volvo Group. Its goal is to build and operate at least 1,700 high-performance public charge points in Europe by 2027. This is the first significant step towards realising the vision of developing a public charging network for road transport in Europe. The hub in the Netherlands consists of four charging bays and is available for electric trucks of all brands. The second phase, scheduled to be operational in Q1 2024, will include an additional four charging bays. At Scania, we know that we can't drive the shift to a sustainable transport system alone. We need strong partnerships to reach that goal. Milence is a great example of key players in the industry working together for a more sustainable future.

Electrifying the truck industry in many ways is more straightforward than for LCV fleets, trucks are essentially back to base or long distance operations and therefore will need strategically placed charging hubs However, therein lies the challenge. There is currently no truck charging network and the power required at these locations is pretty significant So it's great to start to see the green shoots of progress Milence is a joint venture between Daimler Truck AG, TRATON GROUP (Scania Group, MAN Truck & Bus SE, Navistar Inc & Volkswagen Truck & Bus) and Volvo Group that is working to build a high-performance charging network for heavy trucks and coaches across Europe (15 countries) At least 1,700 charging points over the next 5 years with a mix of CCS and the new Megawatt Charging System (MCS) with the first location in the Netherlands at Venlo is already up and running with 4 x 400kW CCS chargers This first site in France has also just opened with 4 x 400kW CCS chargers and with MCS charging bays to be introduced by the end of the year A third site will open in Antwerp, Belgium in Q2 2024 with Varberg, Sweden opening in Q3 and a second site in Belgium (Ghent) is in development As well as the charging facilities, Milence will also be providing driver facilities such as toilets, showers, restaurant and even laundry facilities all designed to suit the drivers needs There's an unbelievably long way to go but it's great to see that real progress is being made #ev #evs #electricvehicles #electrictrucks https://lnkd.in/eweNZ2gr
