WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Post

🌍 Soil health is fundamental to life on Earth, serving as the foundation for agriculture. Healthy soils support the production of quality food, mitigate climate change and sustain ecosystems, making them essential for agriculture that is regenerative. #RegenerativeAgriculture leverages #sustainable agricultural practices in actively restoring and enhancing soil health. Practices including cover cropping, reduced tillage and crop rotation as part of regenerative farming help improve soil structure and boost biodiversity. ➡️ Then the question is: how can we effectively measure the impact of regenerative farming practices on #soil health? The Regenerative Agriculture Metrics (RAM) initiative, driven by WBCSD, OP2B and 33 partner organizations, is a groundbreaking collaboration involving over 1,100 businesses working together to consolidate how we measure regenerative agriculture outcomes, including improved soil health. By aligning on key metrics, such as soil organic carbon, businesses are setting the stage for a more resilient and sustainable #agricultural system. 📊 But the work doesn’t stop with soil. Dive into the soil report to discover how we can regenerate soils and explore chapters on #climate and #water in this comprehensive toolkit: https://lnkd.in/eDiSYZeB Arla Foods, BASF, FrieslandCampina, GROUPE INVIVO, Livelihoods Venture, L’OCCITANE Group, L'Oréal, McCain Foods, Neste, Nestlé, Nutrien, OCP Group, ofi, Olam Agri, Regrow Ag, Symrise AG, Unilever, Climate Farmers, FAIRR Initiative, Genesis, TechnoServe, UEBT, Dana Rakha-Michalon, Tess Robinson Hayes, Alain Vidal, The Biodiversity Consultancy Ltd, Thomas White, Graham Prescott, Edwin Pynegar, Ph.D.
