Happy Monday Followers! Spring is around the corner and if you are like me you have started going through all of the items that you no longer use, or no longer fit. If you do not want to sell them, or just do not have the time to, donate them! Lots of charities and organizations are looking for gently used household items and clothing. Find out which one is closest to you and see if they will take that unwanted item. Some suggestions include: Salvation Army Mustard Seed YWCA EGADZ (Saskatoon) If you know of others that would take unwanted items please leave suggestions in the comments or message me privately. #householditems #mustardseed #springtime #springiscoming #items #charities #organizations #household #apparel #donate #salvationarmy #ywca #egadz

Did you know that living in a clutter-free home can be good for your finances?! Here's how: 1) One of the main benefits of decluttering our homes is that we have a place for everything and we can find our stuff. As a result, we're able to use up what we have and save money by not buying duplicates. 2) Until you’ve decluttered you don’t know what storage solutions you may need. And once you have decluttered you might find you can repurpose something which you already own. 3) Finding lost items can bring great joy and peace of mind, and save you money. If you're planning to go on a decluttering spree, consider donating your unwanted clothing and items to one of our partnered charities. Visit https://lnkd.in/gt9np8AF to learn more. #declutter #donate #charity

If you donate goods, money, or services to charity, you’ll need to utilize the itemize deduction not the standard to have a tax benefit of giving. Plus, you have to have a grasp on the fair market value of tangible goods when it comes tax time. If you regularly donate tangible items to charities, writing off your donations can affect your tax return but only if documented properly. It is worth the effort to track your donated goods if you give valuable items, such as artwork, furniture, or serve in a role on a volunteer board. Today I met with Cathy B., co-founder of A Good Thing (UK) and it was a reminder of how the simplest ideas are often the best. A Good Thing is a non-profit online platform that matches businesses that have things to donate with charities that can use them, reducing waste, saving the charities money and keeping those items in use for longer. It operates all across the UK, but is low on NI-based businesses just now, so take a look and sign up if your business has ANYTHING that could be of use to another organisation. All sorts of weird and wonderful items have been already saved from landfill via the platform – from theatre props, T shirts and stationery to aluminium cans, laptops and candles. Greetings cards have gone to a project for women in prison. Gorgeous organic blankets have gone to vulnerable new mums. Furniture and paint have gone to a community space. Babygros have gone to families of people affected by substance misuse. Bamboo poles have gone to a beautiful community garden. It takes just 30 seconds to create a free account at https://lnkd.in/e4AUD9m and then you’ll be able to start creating listings for items that you have to give away. What a great way to ethically dispose of unwanted goods and help out a charity at the same time! #agoodthing #circularity #donatetoday

Donating ≠ Decluttering Many of us think that by donating unwanted items, we’re “decluttering” our lives and homes. But what if we're missing the bigger picture? Instead of just passing on items we no longer want, we should be asking ourselves how much we truly need in the first place. ✅ Be more intentional: Donating isn't a solution to overconsumption. It starts with being mindful of what we bring into our lives and reducing unnecessary purchases. ✅ Donations with purpose: When we do donate, we should think about how our contributions can support those in need and organizations that create meaningful impact, like CoGoodwill. Donating is about giving back, not just clearing space. Let’s aim for conscious consumption and support organizations that turn our generosity into real community benefit. 🔗 Check out the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dcmerHT3 #ConsciousLiving #Sustainability #MindfulConsumption #GivingBack #SocialImpact #Goodwill
