Road to Net-Zero sustainability podcast

We are excited to already have two episodes of our podcast published this year.

Finch West LRT Milestones

For the first time, a Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) has travelled the length of the Finch West LRT project from the Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) to Humber College station. Congratulations to the project team for achieving this milestone!

Aecon partnership executes contract for Contrecœur Terminal Expansion in-water works

Contrecoeur Terminal Constructors General Partnership, comprised of Aecon (40%) and Pomerleau (60%), executed a contract with the Montréal Port Authority for the Contrecœur Terminal Expansion project in-water works under a Progressive Design-Build approach.

The collaborative agreement covers a 12-month development phase to finalize the design, estimated schedule and cost of this phase of the project. The Contrecœur terminal is a diversified transshipment centre served by some of the largest shipping lines in the world – connecting to major rail networks and highways and helping to meet the needs of domestic and international importers, exporters and consumers.

Aecon consortium to serve as new operations and maintenance partner for GO Transit system

Recently, Aecon announced that ONxpress Operations Inc. (“OOI”), a member of ONxpress Transportation Partners (“ONxpress”), will serve as the new operations and maintenance partner for the GO Transit system in the Greater Golden Horseshoe Area over a 23-year term commencing January 1, 2025. Aecon Concessions holds a 28% interest in OOI.

This is an important milestone for ONxpress as part of the ongoing collaborative development phase for the GO Expansion On-Corridor (OnCorr) Works project.

Through OOI, ONxpress will operate and maintain the trains, work with Metrolinx on train service planning and in the network operation centre, introduce new operational technology and process solutions, and provide maintenance services for new assets such as electrification and signaling.
