It’s been an eventful month full of milestones for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. On June 14, Canadian and U.S. Ironworkers and operating engineers completed the installation of the final two edge girders for the Gordie Howe International Bridge deck. The bridge officially became an international crossing, connecting our two countries. Congratulations to all involved who made this possible!

At the end of last month, construction of the main bridge tower on the Pattullo Bridge Replacement project was completed!

With all 33 segments now installed, the main bridge tower stands at 167 metres tall, making it the tallest bridge tower in British Columbia. Crews are now focused on building the 530-metre cable-supported bridge deck and installing the 80 stay cables outward from the bridge tower.

Congratulations to the entire team for achieving this major milestone!

Both tunnel boring machines, Rexy and Renny, on the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension Advance Tunnel project have officially completed their 6.3-km journey. They launched from Renforth Drive to the final extraction shaft, just west of Scarlett Road and Eglinton Avenue West.

The collaborative efforts between WestEnd Connectors, Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario plus the many project partners, stakeholders, and subcontractors is a testament to achieving such a great milestone. Congratulations to all!
