Congrats to Robert Schwarzhaupt and the whole team!
✨️ Big News!!!✨️ I am so delighted to share that I was recently awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Research grant with my wonderful colleagues at the American Institutes for Research and partners at Teach For America! The project is called "Investigating Black Educator Attitudes and Motivations for Teaching K-12 Computer Science (BEAMS-CS)". This 3-year study uses mixed methods to understand motivational factors associated with early-career, Black Educators becoming K-12 CS teachers! I have the privilege to lead this project with Montrischa Williams, Ph.D., PMP, Becky Smerdon, Grant Van Eaton, and JuDonn DeShields-PhD, who will all be co-PI's! I am also grateful to Joseph P. Wilson, Ph.D., Brenda Arellano, Tia Byers, Tara C., and Danielle Ferguson, EdD who have been fabulous collaborators in putting the project together! It has been a career dream of mine to be the Principal Investigator of a research project which combines social psychology and STEM education. So as you can imagine, I am incredibly elated and energized by this news!
