Supporting Singapore investments into the US. Enterprise Singapore had the pleasure of hosting SelectUSA Executive Director Jasjit Singh on his inaugural visit to Singapore. SelectUSA is the federal agency which looks after foreign direct investments to the US and hosts the annual SelectUSA Investment Summit. We introduced Jasjit to ST Engineering, one of the largest investors from Singapore in the US, which shared about their various businesses there. With Singapore Business Federation and Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore), we also discussed working with SelectUSA to help more Singapore companies expand to the US. Igniting innovation with Indiana. We had the pleasure of co-hosting an Innovation Roundtable with our partners at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) to discuss how we can better facilitate collaborations between Indiana and Singapore ecosystems. Indiana has strengths in areas such as advanced manufacturing, agrifood-tech, and life sciences. It is also home to growing entrepreneurship and innovation hubs, including for frontier tech areas like biotechnology manufacturing, quantum computing, and hydrogen. Thank you to the Honourable Eric Holcomb, Governor of the State of Indiana, David Rosenberg, Indiana Secretary of Commerce, and Jillian Turner, IEDC SVP of Global Investment and Partnerships for joining us at the roundtable. Our thanks also to Wasna, Grand Venture Technology Limited, TiNDLE Foods, GROW, The Trendlines Group, Agrocorp International, Nurasa, and Barnes & Thornburg LLP for actively contributing to the discussion. We look forward to growing our partnership with Indiana to support more cross-border collaboration. Looking to make your mark in Indiana? Bridging ecosystems for growth. We had the pleasure of meeting the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC)’s Singapore Business Mission last week, including US-ABC’s President & CEO, Ambassador Ted Osius, and the Singapore Committee Chair and Oracle’s Vice President of Global Government Affairs, Matis PELLERIN. We had fruitful discussions on areas for collaboration in digitalisation & AI, deep technology, and sustainability. For instance, the US and Singapore can explore ways to partner in quantum technology, and ways to make supply chains more resilient and sustainable. We welcome continued partnerships between our US and Singapore companies and ecosystems. Reach out to stay up to date! Opening new doors to the US. We had close to 30 #Singapore companies join us at the #SelectUSA Investment Summit as part of the Singapore delegation, jointly led by Enterprise Singapore, the U.S. Commercial Service Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation. Over the course of the Summit, these companies met with in-market partners, state and city economic development organisations, as well as other economic agencies, gaining insights to market opportunities across the various states. We also celebrated the enduring partnership between Singapore and the US at SelectUSA 2024, with a reception featuring opening addresses from Enterprise Singapore Assistant Managing Director Johnny Teo, Singapore’s Ambassador to the US Lui Tuck Yew, and Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets Arun Venkataraman. Through the two panels, we discussed strategic partnerships between the two countries, Singapore’s innovation ecosystem and how the US can partner Singapore companies, with this year marking 20 years of the United States – Singapore Free Trade Agreement. Thank you to all our partners for joining us! We look forward to working even more closely together, and supporting our companies’ ambitions to invest in the US.

"VCs go where the deals are, and the tables have turned because people are starting to approach us to ask about Singapore biotech companies." We had a captivating panel discussion on Singapore's #biotech scene on the back of this year's BIO International Convention in San Diego. Although the scene is rapidly growing, it is a work in progress, presenting exciting opportunities for collaboration and investment. Singapore companies like Vivo Surgical and KYAN Technologies also forged invaluable connections with potential US partners. These connections, facilitated by our Enterprise Singapore team, are crucial for lowering market entry barriers and paving the way for these innovative companies to thrive on the global stage.
