That’s a wrap on this year’s Women in Work Summit in New York! What an incredible day of learning and discussion. Thank you to our two brilliant hosts; Tamsen Fadal and Samantha Skey, who created a magnificent thread of coherence throughout the day. And thank you to everyone who has spoken, supported and attended. It's been a day redolent with the need for change, but also with optimism that significant alternations to the traditionally patriarchal shape of the workplace are finally possible. There were many highlights, covering a multitude of vital themes. Every single topic is an important piece in the jigsaw of women's health in the workplace: diversity and inclusion, equity, ageism, menopause, pregnancy, parental leave, intersectionality, male allyship. As was repeatedly pointed out, this is the generation to make the change. WiW exists so that our daughters and granddaughters don't have to fight for equity. Today was a collaborative step in the right direction! #WiWSummitUS #SupportingWomen

Yesterday, we witnessed a powerful reminder of why women’s voices and health issues need to stay front and center. Michelle Obama took the stage alongside Vice President Kamala Harris at a rally in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and her words struck a chord with so many of us. She spoke passionately about women’s health, the importance of access to quality care, and the need for a robust support system for all women - regardless of where they live, their income, or their background. On the stigma surrounding women’s health, she said; “We’ve been taught to feel shame and to hide how our bodies work…too many of us suffer in silence”, noting how social norms often lead to women dealing with their health struggles alone. Her call was clear: everyone should care about women’s health issues because they reverberate through entire families and communities, saying “This will not just affect women. It will affect you and your sons.” Michelle Obama’s words were a poignant reminder of why we must all advocate for accessible and compassionate health care in all areas of society. This is about more than just policy - it’s about valuing women’s lives and ensuring they receive the care and support they need. Let’s make sure this conversation doesn’t end here. #WomensHealth #SupportingWomen #MichelleObama

Great to hear women’s health and reproductive rights as part of the conversation with Vice Presidential candidate Governor Tim Walz on The Smartless Podcast last week, with the Governor saying he ‘couldn’t agree more’ that women’s health is the issue that needs to be addressed. Thank you to Will Arnett for talking about women’s health so openly. We’re used to hearing women speaking about these issues, but we need more men involved in the conversation too. That’s why Male Allyship will be on the agenda at the Women in Work Summit this week where we’ll be talking to Jennifer McCollum, President & CEO of Catalyst Inc., about how organizations can effectively invite and include men in these important discussions - working towards creating workplaces that work for everyone. https://lnkd.in/eh7ZTxXQ #MaleAllies #WomensHealth #SupportingWomen
