Our #YW4A South Sudan team, led by Beina Eveline, along with Peter Malir Biar and Tiop Paul from CAPAD, had a productive meeting with Hon. Aya Warile Benjamin, Minister of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare. We’re building a joint advocacy strategy for the anti-GBV Bill, with young women leading efforts to drive reforms and enhance their participation in public and civic spaces. The Ministry will help mobilise key government officials, and we are excited to involve more young women in shaping this process and their future! The World YWCA and YWCA Lebanon call for global solidarity amid the ongoing attacks on Lebanon. National YWCA of Lebanon reports over 500 lives lost, including 50 children, and thousands injured due to Israel’s recent offensive. More than 500,000 individuals are displaced, with families forced to flee their homes and essential services becoming increasingly scarce.
