Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ big 2.0 update added some new crafting material: vines and glowing moss. These materials aren’t found natively on your island and there’s tons of DIYs that use them. Our Animal Crossing: New Horizons vine and glowing moss guide will explain where to find vines and glowing moss and where to find DIY recipes that use these materials.

Where to find vines and glowing moss

Vines and glowing moss can only be found on specific Kapp’n boat tours. Some islands will be filled with the mysterious flora, and you can harvest it and it all back with you. Vines and glowing moss do not grow natively on your island, so you’ll need to get lucky with a Kapp’n island in order to find it, unless you have the game’s DLC.

If you have the Happy Home Paradise DLC, glowing moss and vines will spawn towards the back of the hub island, near the ruins. You can freely harvest these to bring home and use in DIYs and they do seem to regrow, based on our own testing.

Vine and glowing moss DIY recipe list

There are 40 DIY recipes that use vines and/or glowing moss.

So far, we’ve found DIY recipes for these items on Kapp’n islands with the glowing moss and vine on them. One recipe can be found per glowing moss and vine island, sitting in a bottle near the ocean. Make sure to look for it and grab it before you leave the island.

If you have the Happy Home Paradise DLC, you can also find one of these DIY recipes in a bottle on that island, after you’ve decorated over five homes. You’re not guaranteed one of these recipes specifically, but you can get them on the DLC island.

We’ve listed out the recipes below, courtesy of Nook Plaza. We’ll update with more images as we find more recipes.
