In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there is a specific festive season to get special holiday-themed DIY recipes. You’ll need to collect materials from trees and recipes from balloons to craft them all. Our ACNH Ornament recipe guide explains how to get all the recipes and how to collect Ornaments from trees.

How to get Ornaments and Ornament DIY recipes

From December 15 until January 6, regardless of which hemisphere your island is in, the pine trees get decorated to celebrate the holidays. Shaking the decorated pine trees will drop Red, Blue, and Yellow Ornaments.

During this time, you can collect seasonal recipes by shooting down balloons with your slingshot. Note that these recipes can only be collected during this event period, so if you miss out on any of them, you’ll have to time travel or ask your friends to help.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update also added five new seasonal DIY recipes that use Ornaments: the Giant Ornament, Ornament Crown, Ornament Garland, Ornament Table Lamp, and Ornament Tree.

These recipes shouldn’t be confused with other seasonal winter recipes, whether it’s the Snowflake recipes or the Snowboy recipes. Check out the full list of festive recipes below.
