I am an experienced Master's level Social Worker, Psychotherapist & Addiction Counsellor offering counselling for clients in both Ontario (in-person & online) & Nova Scotia (online only). I have worked extensively in the social services field since 1999 & as a Registered Social Worker since 2003. I have assisted adults experiencing a wide range of issues (i.e., addiction, anger/emotional problems, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma & critical incident stress). I am committed to ongoing professional development & training & to providing an emotionally safe, supportive & honest environment for all of my clients.
I specialize in addiction (i.e., dependence/abuse of illicit drugs, medication, alcohol and/or gambling), anger/emotions management (i.e., feelings of frustration, anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, loss) & relationship problems (i.e., conflict, communication, trust, self-esteem, intimacy). Online video counselling is available for adults (18+).
I utilize a respectful, flexible, integrative and non-judgmental approach to counselling, which assumes that my clients are the experts in their own lives. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic interventions to assist individuals and couples with their difficulties including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy & Mindfulness techniques.
