I am a prescribing psychiatric nurse practitioner with additional background/certifications in critical/emergency care. I have two doctoral candidacies (Nursing and Law), & a degree in Health Services Admin. All have been helpful in advocating for my patients & understanding complex medical conditions affecting mental health. I’ve 20 yrs of experience working with all ages, and currently treat age 5 to 64 and offer telehealth to all areas of New Mexico. I treat children, adolescents & young adults. I also offer therapy & integrative/holistic psychiatry approaches. I’m able to prescribe all medications.

Many people in the United States also have some mental, emotional, or behavioral issues, and suicide is now the second leading cause of death among people between the ages of 15 to 34. When mental and behavioral health disorders are not effectively treated, it affects the individual, families, and communities. The troubling state of mental health therefore demands attention from mental health professionals. Despite the prevalence and the serious functional impact of these disorders, they remain undertreated and underdiagnosed.

I am a psychiatric nurse NP specializing in psychopharmacology. As much as people do not want to take medication for their mental health, it is essential for some in order to get healthy. Dr. Arizaga earned her medical degree at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  In 2008, she graduated from her Psychiatric Residency, also at the University of New Mexico.  She is board certified in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatric and Neurology) and Addiction Medicine (American Board of Preventive Medicine).  Additionally, she has training and experience in Integrative Psychiatry and is a certified practitioner from the Integrative Psychiatric Institute in Boulder, Colorado.

Ms. Jennifer Sims is a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who has over 25 years of experience in psychiatry and in a variety of settings including inpatient, academics, and outpatient. Ms. Sims received her Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Indiana University. She is also a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and has an MBA. Her clinical passion is Patient-Centered Care and working in collaboration with Clients to assist them with their mental health well-being. She treats a variety of psychiatric disorders to include, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.
