Hi I'm Alexis. My approach to therapy is primarily through a Systems Theory and Intersectionality lens. We, as humans, are more than a mental health diagnosis. During counseling, we will explore what else makes up your identity, what bigger societal structures impact you, and how this all intersects with one another. I find value in looking at the big picture of who you are, as a person, to assist in the development of coping skills and increasing your mental wellbeing.

Welcome to my practice! I am a licensed psychologist with 19 years of experience in conducting psychological evaluations, coaching and providing treatment to adolescents and adults in a variety of areas.

I subscribe to a client-centered approach to work with a population struggling with cooccurring needs. Those clients that would benefit from our work, struggle with addiction and the recovery process, in tandem with mental health needs. With this notion, the population to whom I am primarily acquainted are those who are often initiating in their first steps of the treatment and recovery journey, those clients who have just recently made the decision, or are conflicted by the decision, to become sober needing a high level of care and clinical helping hand. Their goals are to achieve sustained recovery with an enhancement of wellness.

Karl Bachman earned his doctorate and master's degree from The Ohio State University and his bachelor's degree in Experimental-Physiological Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University. He has provided services in settings including university (The Center for Integrated Medicine at Ohio State) and private practice. Besides cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy he has training in hypnosis, integrative therapy and EMDR. He provides services to adults and elderly as well as couples and families. His specialty areas include anxiety, depression, ADHD, weight loss/nutritional issues, chronic disease and sleep disorders.

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from Loyola University Chicago (MSW, LISW-S). My goal is to start with you wherever you are in your healing process and assist you throughout your journey by providing an empathetic, safe space for you to be able to express yourself. Not only can I help you with addressing various thoughts and feelings related to mental health, but I can also provide broader ideas that might provide you with different ways of thinking about your wellbeing to better assist you in your journey.

I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy and no issue is too big or small to address. I look to create a safe and welcoming space that helps each client feel comfortable. I have experience working with adult individuals and couples as well as treating anxiety, life transitions, infidelity, and relationship issues. I believe that each client is different and that therapy should be tailored to their specific needs. My therapeutic approach is eclectic with a focus on Emotionally Focused Therapy, Structural Therapy, and Bowen’s Family System’s Approach.

My practice specializes in working with adults who are moving through transition; who need support and information to assist them in doing so in a successful, satisfying manner. My clinical focus is on trauma, relationships/couples, the change process across the life span, and divorce.

My philosophy as a counselor is to provide unconditional support and a willingness to enter into your personal experience alongside you. I create a judgement free and confidential space for you to express yourself and your emotional needs. I specialize in a variety of areas including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues and mood disorders. I believe that counseling is a way towards growth and healing.

Every experience both firsthand and indirectly leaves a mark on our mind and bodies further shaping the view we hold of ourselves, others, and the world. Manifestations of mental, emotional, and physiological symptoms from these experiences can leave us feeling disconnected, adrift, or uncertain. I utilize elements of polyvagal theory, psycho-education, mindfulness based stress reduction, and somatic techniques to assist you in peeling back the layers of the body and mind further re-aligning you back to your true self.

My goals in therapy are to collaborate with my clients to help them reach their full potential and to improve their quality world. I look at my clients holistically and do not define them by the symptoms that led them to therapy. I am a Certified Sex Therapist recognized through AASECT, and work with clients on topics related to sexual identity/orientation, relationship structures, sexual dysfunctions, and kink/BDSM. I also work with clients addressing concerns including depression, anxiety, life transitions, and older adulthood/lifestyle changes.

It is my belief there is no crisis or concern too insurmountable or insignificant where the presence of a supportive therapeutic relationship cannot be beneficial. Seeking counseling is the first step on the path toward gaining insight, meaning and healing. I support clients in understanding and shifting emotions, thoughts and behaviors that may be causing suffering and impairing healthy functioning. I am humbled to walk alongside you on your path to healing. I counsel adults who have struggles with relationships, depression, anxiety, alcohol or drugs, communication, life transitions, family dynamics, anger, stress, and trauma.

I also assist women that are experiencing emotional issues and/or have experienced past trauma. I use a combination of emotional support, understanding, and empathy to assist with inner turmoil and relationship repairs. I hope to assist clients with finding a healthy balance between self-love and relationship health. I work for Catholic Charities, but I am not a faith based therapist. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University in Spring 2024.
