Having someone to talk to can help one develop positive coping skills. In addition, therapy can help people see how their past unresolved issues can continue to create problems for them in their current life.

Life can be difficult. For children and adolescents it can be especially challenging. As a Registered Play Therapist, I have a passion for utilizing play therapy to help children and adolescents find their full potential. As a certified eating disorders specialist (CEDS) candidate I work with children to adults in the recovery process because recovery is possible. Having someone to help navigate life's difficulties can help one develop positive, healthy coping strategies. Through this process I work with individuals, families, and parents.

I take a wholeness approach to wellness and help empower clients to use their strengths and abilities to achieve their goals and lead the lives they desire. Some of my areas of expertise include working with issues related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, relationships, women’s health, stress management, trauma, grief, postpartum depression/anxiety and more.

I love working with individuals and couples who are ready to do the work to make real, lasting, and meaningful changes in their lives to meet the goals they have. Helping others challenge themselves to grow and improve their relationship with themselves and others is a great privilege for me, and the counseling profession is one of which I am truly grateful to be a part.

I employ a wide range of skills, but I truly believe that the foundation of therapy is based on a solid therapeutic relationship. I specialize in working with teenagers & adults on many issues including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, grief & loss, & relationship issues, to name a few. My passion is working with women who have been through some type of trauma & are experiencing difficulty functioning in the present moment.

I would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to walk beside my clients on their journey toward self-fulfillment. My counseling interests include children, teens, adults, couples, and families.

I value a diverse set of skills & believe being authentic & vulnerable can lead to the foundation within the therapeutic relationship. My approach to therapy is within the person-centered & humanistic approach, viewing the whole person, within their uniqueness, growth, & capabilities. I have worked extensively with families, children & adolescents within my career & seek out the importance of the child-parent relationship. Play therapy is a passion & set of skills I value while working with children & families. Focusing within Perinatal & Postpartum Mental Health is also a passion of mine.

I have over 20 years of social work experience. Throughout the years I have gained expertise in working with older adults, hospice, grief, child welfare, long-term care, acute care, individual counseling, couple’s counseling and group counseling services. I enjoy working with teens, adults, and couples, and I have been a licensed therapist in the Black Hills for the last 3 1/2 years.

As a licensed mental health practitioner in private practice, I meet each client and situation with openness and authenticity. My office provides a safe and welcoming space for vulnerability, healing, and personal growth. I utilize a client-centered approach combined with effective psychotherapy interventions to help clients reach their desired level of fulfillment and functioning. Combining a variety of therapeutic interventions with my holistic integrative training offers clients a personalized treatment approach to promote healing and optimal holistic health.
