Just in - NERSA Approves 12.7% Electricity Tariff Increase The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) has approved a 12.7% electricity tariff increase for the 2025/26 financial year, effective from April 1, 2025. This is significantly lower than Eskom's requested 36.15% increase. Additionally, NERSA has approved tariff hikes of 5.36% for 2026/27 and 6.19% for 2027/28. This highlights the ongoing challenges in South Africa's energy sector and underscore the importance of exploring sustainable energy alternatives. https://lnkd.in/d5c4J8gk

South Africa generates 6.2 kilograms of e-waste per person each year, yet only 12% is recycled. E-waste, one of the fastest-growing waste streams globally, poses significant environmental and health risks if not managed responsibly. To address this, the South African Government has taken a crucial step towards sustainable waste management by banning e-waste from landfills. Recognising the importance of keeping e-waste out of landfills is essential.
