The SADC Business Council (SADC BC) is a regional apex body for SADC private sector. It represents national and regional apex business associations of the 16 SADC Member States. SADC BC is the prime public sector partner in forging SADC development and integration. SADC Business Council's objectives are as follows: - Ensuring private sector consultation and participation in policy processes - Developing and sharing evidence-based position papers - Conveying the private sector’s concerns and issues in major policy areas - Promoting private sector interests to improve the enabling and competitive business environment - Promoting regional and national private sector interests at the continental and global level in terms of policymaking and trade negotiations - Facilitating dialogues between the SADC business Community and other relevant stakeholders in the region, continent, and globally - Strengthening private to private sector exchange - Supporting national private sector Apex Bodies and SMME umbrella organisations - Addressing key obstacles to business growth - Market intelligence analysis to inform trade, investment, and joint ventures - Providing a forum for the exchange of information and ideas - Addressing issues that limit private sector competitiveness in trade and investment
