Over the last few months, our colleagues in the AustralianSuper New York office have been actively giving back to their local community. In April, the team volunteered at The Bowery Mission, an organization that helps provide meals and shelter to New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. Over two days, the team helped prepping and serving nourishing meals, sharing warmth with those in need. And last month, the team participated in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, a 3.5 mile run/walk through Central Park. The team brought energy and generosity of spirit that helped support the Central Park Conservancy. #volunteering #teamspirit Read the PDS and TMD at australiansuper.com

Today, we announced we’re super-charging home ownership for Australians in partnership with Assemble. Our Chief Executive Paul Schroder joined Jacinta Allan, Colin Brooks, Kris Daff and Sheena Watt MP welcoming residents to Australia’s first super-backed Build-to-Rent-to-Own housing development in Thompson St, Kensington (VIC). The innovative project offers a homeownership pathway and financial coaching for residents. It also boasts a range of state-of-the-art amenities and shared spaces. “AustralianSuper is proud to partner with Assemble in this unique housing model. As a signatory to the Housing Accord, we are committed to finding scalable solutions that deliver strong long-term returns for members while also responding to the housing supply crisis," Paul said. In an interview with Investment Magazine our Head of Fixed Income, Currency and Cash Katie Dean discusses adjustments AustralianSuper has been making to its bond portfolio in response to global trends, interest rate movements and inflation expectations. “It’s a classic asset allocation decision. When rates look like they have peaked it is normally a good time to start reducing your fixed income holdings,” Katie said. “What we would expect to see over the next six to 12 months is a reduction in the fund’s exposure to fixed income, very much predicated on the view that there’ll be higher returning asset classes.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gnYs7fux

We had a great turnout at our 2024 AustralianSuper adviser lunch briefing events with more than 250 advisers attending across Australia. With Kylie-Anne Richards, PhD from University of Technology Sydney joining Tony Morriss and Alistair Barker from our Investments team, it was wonderful to see great discussion and engagement on all things superannuation and geopolitics. To our adviser partners, thank you for your continued support and the great work you do for your clients.
