In 2024, Brookfield Cares Australia proudly supported charities important to local communities across the country including Yalari, Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation (SCHF), MS Australia, Kids Giving Back, Early Bird Cafe, The Salvation Army Australia, Property Industry Foundation, Taronga Conservation Society Australia, St Bart’s, Tangaroa Blue Foundation and Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.   In Asia, our teams also rolled up their sleeves to help those in need. Highlights included our China team raising over A$45,000 for Heart to Heart Shanghai to fund 11 children’s heart surgeries, our Singapore team packing 125 food parcels for The Food Bank Singapore, and our Korea team taking part in the The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, raising money for people doing it tough over Christmas.   We look forward to continuing to make a difference in 2025. 

This week Brookfield’s #realestate business announced the completion of two deals in #Japan worth a cumulative US$1.6 billion, underscoring our strong conviction in Japan’s real estate market. Gajoen is an iconic mixed use complex in Meguro, Central Tokyo, close to major transport routes, business and entertainment hubs. Brookfield’s Japanese team will manage the asset, with plans to reposition the complex through extensive renovation and active asset management. The logistics development project is a 1 million sqft land plot in Anpachi, Greater Nagoya, strategically located close to the Meishin Expressway, which connects major metropolitan cities in mid-west Japan. The site will be developed into a high-spec premium-grade large multi-tenant (LMT) warehouse with a GFA of 2.4 million sqft. We see compelling opportunities to invest further into Japan this year across sectors including #logistics, #hospitality and high-quality #office. In doing so, we’ll bring our extensive global expertise to bear, working collaboratively with our Japanese partners to find real estate solutions that will unlock capital and help them grow. 

Happy #LunarNewYear! Brookfield Place Sydney welcomed the Year of the Snake with a traditional lion dance in the lobby, bringing good luck and fortune to its tenants. 

A recap on some of the exciting initiatives from the #BrookfieldWomensNetwork (BWN) in Asia Pacific in 2024. In #Australia, a highlight from the year included the launch of the Women of Brookfield Place Networking Evening which connected like-minded women across Brookfield Place Sydney. In #Singapore, highlights included the launch of the BWN #mentorship program and hosting a #leadership masterclass focused on unlocking potential and how to excel in a highly competitive environment. Around the region the network also continued to run ambassador programs throughout the year, providing support and a friendly face to new starters and returning parents across the business, as well as a regular program of workshops and guest speakers across our Sydney, Singapore and #Shanghai offices.

“Access to a large skilled workforce make markets in emerging Asia cost-effective manufacturing destinations, while a rapidly expanding middle class and a large domestic market allows businesses to tap into local consumer demand and drive business growth.” Head of Asia Pacific and Middle East for Brookfield’s Real Estate Group Ankur Gupta recently spoke with Institutional Real Estate Asia Pacific about the evolution of Asia’s real estate sector and how investors can capitalise on shifting trends and the opportunities emerging in markets across the region. 

“We are at the start of a multi-decade build-out of #AI infrastructure which is going to require an upgrade of all aspects of #digitalinfrastructure across Asia Pacific.” CEO of Brookfield’s Global Data Center Group, Udhay Mathialagan, says that in 2025, Brookfield will seek out investments that energise economic growth in the APAC region, with a strong focus on #data and #renewableenergy.
