We were honoured to welcome the Governor-General, Samantha Mostyn AO, to Carriageworks on Wednesday morning for a sold-out performance of CIRCA's #CarnivalOfTheAnimals. . The show beautifully introduces young audiences to the magic of circus and classical music, showcasing why Circa continues to be one of Australia’s most celebrated cultural exports. Since 2015, our Solid Ground initiative in partnership with Blacktown Arts has been providing education and employment pathways for First Nations young people, including through year-long artist residencies at schools in western Sydney and Alexandria.   Here, Solid Ground producer Felix May discusses how the project works to empower First Nations students through hands-on learning experiences across dance, performance, composition, recording and visual art.   Our thanks to Alberts , who have been supporting Solid Ground since 2021 through The Tony Foundation, and to Ingrid Albert for her unwavering support.
