Fall in love with the Earth again.
About us
CERES is an environmental education centre, community garden, urban farm and social enterprise hub spread across four locations, linked by the Merri and Darebin Creeks on Wurundjeri Country, Naarm (Melbourne). Our vision is for people to fall in love with the Earth again and to that end, our work spans environmental, social, economic, spiritual and cultural dimensions. We receive around half a million visits per year to our original park in Brunswick East, and reach nearly another million through our other locations, school outreach programs and online services. The CERES School of Nature and Climate is the evolution of our education programs into a focused response to the climate and ecological crisis we are facing. Our environmental education offerings at Brunswick East, in schools and online, are designed to reconnect people to each other and the Earth, developing the practical skills, knowledge, leadership qualities and community resilience that will be needed in the coming decades. We also run an organic grocery delivery service (Fair Food), a sustainable timber business (Fair Wood) and a market garden (Joe's Market Garden).

Yesterday, as part of our 12 in Twelve initiative, the Miller Leith team had the privilege of lending a hand at CERES, an incredible hub for environmental education and community empowerment in Melbourne. 🌱🌿 '12 in Twelve' is a pledge to spend 12 hours volunteering within 12 months, fostering compassion and camaraderie among our team. We spent the day weeding, gardening, and supporting the Ceres team. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a vital cause. Thanks so much for having us! 😊 #CorporateVolunteering #Ceres #Passion #LocalHarvest

ICYMI: Last week was International Compost Awareness Week and we celebrated in style, welcoming a group from dentsu for a working bee. They got down and dirty with our Park Team, from tending to our hot composting system (where all the food scraps from The Merri Cafe end up), to maintaining and reworking our #hugelkultur terraces, which is how we process the vast majority of the green waste that is generated on our 10 acre grounds. We love welcoming corporate volunteer groups who help us keep our park beautiful and learn about sustainability our work along the way! Big thumbs up from Farmer Jess for our new Microgreens decking, installed by Lendlease volunteers last week. The decking, made from CERES Fair Wood, will ensure Jess and her volunteers are able to safely move across the site. We are grateful for the support of Lendlease in donating their time, equipment, materials and expertise to deliver this important upgrade to the Microgreens area. Our corporate volunteering program has a range of opportunities to support CERES.
