  • CIMIC Group companies are committed to delivering sustainable solutions for our clients. For CPB Contractors, UGL and Pacific Partnerships, sustainability was front of mind during the design and #construction of Transport for NSW’s Mindyarra Maintenance Centre which has been recognised with two 'leading' ratings from the Infrastructure Sustainability Council in both the Design and As-Built categories. The project prioritised #sustainability in every aspect of the centre's design and construction, including: > More than 95% of annual operational electricity for the facility sourced from more than 3,200 on-site solar panels > More than 90% of non-potable water demand met by rainwater capture and reuse, aided by a train wash system that recycles its own used water > 100% of landscaping made up of native and drought tolerant species.

CPB Contractors is committed to making its projects and operations as safe and sustainable as possible. We are proud that the Mindyarra Maintenance Centre has received this highest rating in the scheme, which recognises the delivery of emission-reducing solutions like solar power and robust water recycling as well as a variety of other sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impacts and maximise social and economic benefits for the local community. 🌳🌞💧 Want to hear more about what's happening across CPB Contractors? 🚄✨Proudly part of the Sydney Metro journey since the very beginning, we recently celebrated 10 million+ metro trips taken since the Sydney Metro M1 line between Chatswood and Sydenham opened less than 6-months ago. Today, we’re taking you back to 2019 when CPB Contractors, UGL and Pacific Partnerships – all CIMIC Group Limited companies – joined Sydneysiders to celebrate the opening of Australia’s first fully automated railway as part of the Sydney Metro North West SMNW - Northwest Rapid Transit (NRT) project. Delivery of the NRT project was a complex logistical exercise where meticulous planning, innovation and teamwork were the heroes. Over four years, our crews successfully constructed eight stations, installed over 50,000 sleepers, laid 60,000 metres of rail tracks, poured more than 30 kilometres of track slabs in tunnels, built 30 kilometres of walkways, and ran more than 240 kilometres of overhead wires and high-voltage cables. This was in addition to 30 kilometres of tunnelling works delivered as part of the SMNW Tunnels and Stations Excavation package. CPB Contractors Project Director Scott Hunter emphasises how industry-leading expertise and collaboration benefitted the project: "The successful delivery of the NRT project – and more recently the City & Southwest M1 Chatswood to Sydenham line line-wide project – came down to our end-to-end capabilities, which are second to none… from design to construction, and testing and commissioning of the railway, I'm really proud of how we worked as a team and what we have delivered here. I am sure that many would agree with me when I say that the project set a new standard for the construction of public transport projects in Australia.” You can read more here: https://lnkd.in/gMfqvv6H CPB Contractors and UGL have been part of the Sydney Metro journey since the very beginning and have proudly delivered the largest combined work packages along the alignment. After successfully delivering the Sydney Metro North West packages of work and the Sydney Metro - City & Southwest Tunnels and Stations Excavation package, our CIMIC Group companies are now delivering: 🔶Gadigal Integrated Station Development 🔶Sydney Metro City & Southwest line-wide Works 🔶Sydney Metro West Eastern Tunnelling Package 🔶Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport Station Boxes and Tunnelling 🔶Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport Surface and Civil Alignment Works.
