Our Private Sector Labour Relations (PSLR) team is responsible for regulating and promoting employer compliance with state employment laws and investigating complaints by employees about unpaid wages and entitlements under these laws, including long service leave. In the 2023–24 year, industrial inspectors from PSLR recovered over $500,000 in underpayments on behalf of employees. Our Resource and Environmental Compliance Executive Director Tyler Sujdovic recently contributed to a panel discussion at the Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE). Addressing the topic of collaborative strategies for sustainable decommissioning, Tyler spoke of the role of regulators in promoting sustainable decommissioning and encouraged industry to continue engaging with community and other stakeholders about successful decommissioning outcomes. The Aboriginal Empowerment Unit (AEU) has Regional Aboriginal Engagement staff located across the South West, Goldfields, Mid West and Pilbara regions. These team members are available to meet with Aboriginal peoples to listen, provide information and collect feedback 👉 https://lnkd.in/dH-S5myK Regional engagement is a key focus for the AEU and the team is taking every opportunity to reach out to Aboriginal communities. 📸 Team members attended Yamatji On-Country alongside staff from Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA), Energy Policy WA and Consumer Protection WA This was an opportunity to connect with the Yamatji community, listen to key issues and priorities, and discuss the different aspects of the department’s role.
