⚠️ Tiny but deadly: Don’t let button batteries haunt your Halloween! In Australia, button batteries have tragically claimed the lives of children. These small but dangerous batteries can cause severe burns if swallowed or inserted into the nose, mouth, or ear. 🕯️ Common Halloween products like jack-o-lanterns, fake candles, wands, and masks may have unsecured battery compartments, putting kids at risk. Keep your little ghouls safe this Halloween! 🎃 Always check that battery compartments are secure with a screw and keep batteries out of reach. 🎃 Don’t turn Halloween into a real scare! 🎃 If your business sells spooky Halloween items, make safety a top priority. 🛑 Button batteries are a serious risk to kids and must comply with Australia’s safety standards—non-compliance could cost you big! 💀 Selling face paint, makeup kits, or fake blood? Make sure they meet ingredient labelling requirements to keep everyone safe. Stock safe products and stay compliant! 🛍 For all the details, visit the websites below: Button batteries: https://lnkd.in/gASqAYTs Cosmetics: https://lnkd.in/gXHA7TjB

🎃 We've been shopping for Halloween! But what we found was SCARY... Inspections have been carried out on online purchases and in physical stores - many items have likely breached Australia's strict product safety laws. Potential issues included glow in the dark rings, finger lights, and LED lights without secure button battery compartments or internationally recognised safety symbols; make-up, fake blood, and face stickers without mandatory ingredient labelling; and children's nightwear missing the required flammable safety warnings. Further assessment of the potentially non-compliant items will now be undertaken to reach a formal determination, with possible action to follow. ⚠ Our friends at NSW Fair Trading are warning consumers to avoid dealing with online trader T & R International Pty Ltd. Further info 👇
We’re warning consumers not to deal with T & R International Pty Ltd trading as ‘T & R Sports’ and ‘Sports Leisure.’ The online trader, who is now under investigation, operates a business supplying imported games tables, indoor/outdoor furniture, bikes, e-scooters, fitness and sports equipment, and accessories to consumers in Australia. Since March 2024, NSW Fair Trading has received around 324 complaints against ‘T & R Sports’ and ‘Sports Leisure’. Of major concern to us is the sale and supply of the ‘Mason Taylor’ bunk bed which is in breach of product safety standards in NSW and failing to comply with mandatory safety standard AS/NZS 4220. Consequently, a recall notice was issued on 31 July 2024. Complaints received against the trader mainly relate to pre-paid online orders with concerns about: • Unreasonable delays in receiving goods ordered • Goods are not delivered or only partially supplied • False and misleading representations about the goods and services Anyone who has dealt with T & R International Pty Ltd is urged to lodge a complaint here: https://lnkd.in/gqbahxjq #NSWFairTrading #PublicWarning
